fun fact: it was the real michael jackson talking, but an imitator was singing. Michael was standing next to the imitator, grinning and smiling. he was not credited due to other contractual agreements, and yes he was a big fan of the simpsons.

@@ChrisAkuto No, he did not sing in this episode. He did sing vocals in The Bartman song because he produced it. But he decided to lower his voice tone down to hide his identity.

It was kipp Lennon who did the singing but the voice work was by Jackson he stood next to the sound alike the entire time though because he wanted his brothers to think the impersonator was him so now everyone thinks the impersonator was the real Jackson 😂 that’s the best part of the joke

Foxy Cawthon Because contracts, I believe. Apparently, he was signed over to Sony, but the Simpsons is by FOX, so he wasn't allowed to sing. This is why Kipp Lennon sang. Also, Michael didn't want his name in the credits, so they credited him as "John Jay Smith".

A really touching scene... Thank you for the upload. It means a lot to me, especially since the TV show decided it was better to censor MJ bc of that false debate about LN. Even in death, MJ has to be a scapegoat !! Consequently, I decided I would censor / boycott The Simsons from now on... We live in such a sad world, friends...

Michael voiced the character but the singing was done by another person hand selected by Michael to imitate his singing voice since at the time they where worried about copyright laws with the record label Michael was under.
