@City17.76 I think thats the main reason. From my experience most people who buy houses in the US think of it as a long-term investment rather than a place to be their family home for generations. And since the most valuable part in that investment is land they dont really bother to put a load of money in the house or the interior. That makes them very socially mobile but on the other hand most houses look much simpler compared to European or Russian ones because of that.

@Mor Dor the most popular trend on Russian KZfaq now - channels of people, who have left a busy city and make videos about their new life in the countryside. More and more modern Russians dream to live in the suburbs of the cities, to have a garden and to stay away from noise. Dacha is a place where you are constantly working after work 😄 And a countryside house is a place where you live in peace without noisy neighbours and polluted air. There is a huge Russian channel FORUMHOUSE for those ones who dream to build a house in the countryside, and more and more Russians are getting inspired by this way of living.

@Mor Dor much more than 10 vloggers, and they have a great audience. Not everyone who really wants to go to the countryside can do this - it is hard to build a house and some people can't do it because of their work... Even ten years ago people were trying to move closer to the city center, but now most people over 30 around me are trying to fulfil their dream about a house near the city: to lead a calm life, to find a remote work, to go to the office two times a week and to work mostly from their garden 😊

After the first child was born I went to a three bedroom house and by the time the forth child was born I had a two story five bedroom house. After the kids left I sold off the last house and bought a small one that I could easily take care of on a large piece of land for a garden and four car garage to have room for my hobbies. Times change, people change and circumstances change. I wouldn't want a large house just for one person to live in today. All someone needs to do is clean one once and see how much time is wasted when they could be doing something constructive. :-)

In BC, Canada, pretty much everyone follows the apartment-house-apartment trajectory, which means when you are young and newly wed and cannot afford to buy a single detached house, you live in a small apartment. Then when you have your own family with kids, you move into a house. And then when your kids grow up and move out and when you get older and climbing stairs has become inconvenient, you sell the house and move back to a small condo for your retired life.

I live in a blue state and I pay through the nose for our school district in my property taxes and for what kind of education do my grandchildren get now? It's worthless. Before they use to teach classes in high school that would get you a good paying job around this area. Now this state taxed all the big companies out of here, there are no more good paying jobs to speak of and now people are working two and three jobs just to get buy. The next thing my state wants to do is tax the wealthy with higher taxes, which I won't vote for, and those people will be moving out of this glorified tax state. You can say what you want about republicans but as I look back on my employment and standard of living, I did better when we had a republican president than I did during the years of the tax and spend democrat president. In fact more was taken from my earnings from these democrats during those times of my work history. Hi! Just a quick tour of some nice Russian houses. If you compare these ones with American ones what are the differences? First of all - steel doors and Huge walls around the house.You gotta feel safe. Russians don’t have guns - and we want privacy and protection. Second. Carpets on the walls - not always but you still see them, sometimes. What else? In my upcoming videos I want to show the typical soviet apartments. Because who are we trying to fool. The majority of Russians still live in them. Let me know what you think

The major difference with the ordinary American house (not some mansion) is a much more expensive decor and furniture. And of course the building material of the house itself. Americans mostly think of their houses as some long-term investments or a retirement fund rather than a place they would pass to their children so they dont usually put a lot of money into them.
@PaulV.5 жыл бұрын
@Karol Szymon Wiśniewski Americans dont earn 6000$ per month average. Last data from 2019 shows that average salary in the US is approximately 3800$ per month. So are Russians earn not 500$ but 800$ average. I know that you Poles hate Russians but you are twisting and exaggerating mostly everything you have written.
@owainkanaway83455 жыл бұрын
@Karol Szymon Wiśniewski Most Americans can't even afford a house or even rent an apartment. Nearly 40% of Americans ages 18-35 still live in their parents basement. Those government statistics on how much an average American earns don't mean squat because that is not counting inflation which has gone up rapidly since 2000. To rent a 1-bed room apartment in California cost over $1000.
@jamesowens27815 жыл бұрын

Your right, very few Russians, comparatively speaking live in a house, especially a nice one. Most are still in run down old communist era apartments, though new ones are being built all the time. Also the people living in the old ones usually have the inside of their apt very nice. Additionally, they should be called condos as people all actually own them, they hardly ever rent. In the villages people almost all live in houses, and they are valued commensurate with the location as is real estate anywhere.

Last century typical houses have figural briks laying, and earlier are painted. You can google pictures for "Radowell" and "Kovalivka" to see two types of well decorated typical houses. Now most of such houses are remade- warming materials are above brics. New houses are very different from each other(because resently apeared big amount of materals) But there is some fashionadle detail - decorating with big briks of two sizes. It look not so good. Beautiful. Great to see Russia on the rise. The important thing is, that the neighborhoods are safe, too.
