The Body They May Kill sounds interesting! I just need to read Shady Hollow already!! You visited Beatrix Potter's home?? That's AMAZING!!!! Dreamy!!!! I so want to do a "literary pilgrimage" so to speak throughout the UK... where all these incredible poets and authors lived, walked, perfected their craft. Ahhhhhh one day!!!! The Thursday Murder Club is such a fun ride!!! Maisie Dobbs is such a great series. It's so different than the majority of mysteries I've read. I love the subplots - they just add that extra something to the main mystery plot. And the characters!!! Billy Beale has my heart. I also love that there's almost a heaviness in each book, like a deep melancholic atmosphere which fits well with the 1930s depression era and inter-war years. So so good. Mrs. Pollifax - YES. Amelia Peabody - 100% yes. Miss Marple is a no-brainer!!

Since you said the main character is like Mrs. Kip, I want to read Love Overboard now. I loved The Body They May Kill. I bought Rosemary for Remembrance, but I haven't read it yet. It's on my stack to try to get to this month.

She is in personality, not her life experiences--seeing the humor, the utter determination to do something for someone (the man she insisted on befriending) etc. It's not like the book at all.

1000% accurate on Emma. However, I didn't like the new Tommy and Tuppence. 😂 I think I'm in the minority of that
