My 5th grader and I are looking at curriculum for next year and he finished FIG and was so sad I didn't have the next level for him, so I will be adding that back, as well as something else from IEW. We did most of structure and style A and didn't finish because it was no longer working out, but I am anxious to try again with one of the others, maybe the Narnia one.

I've got a 6th grader this year too. He'll be using learning language arts through literature for his LA, finishing up the good and the beautiful math 5 and then moving on to 6 when he's ready. We're using truthquest history and picking up at the American revolution and hopefully making our way through to westward expansion. For science we'll be doing some units studies. We'll start the year doing a natural remedies unit using some of the herbs we're grown in our garden this summer and then move on to ocean animals, and then finishing the year studying botany in the spring. My son is also really excited about an online course I found in graphic design which will be one elective. We also do Spanish together as a family. At our Co-op he'll take art, PE, and an undecided elective. Trumpet and piano will round out his year.

We are big Explode the Code fans over here. Been using them since Pre-K level. Fix it Grammar is great, but my granddaughter wanted to try something different this year. Great history reader choices. We loved those books. Thanks for sharing all your goodies. God bless Megan ❤

Explode the Code is great, isn’t it?! We use it from Preschool on but we’ve actually never used 7&8 before! Typically I’ve stopped at 5 or 6 with each of my kids. My oldest wanted to move away from Fix-it as well, he’s done 3 of them and was kinda done 😆 I hope you are doing well! 💜

I'm extremely excited cuz we're trying something new this year and doing two different units studies 1 of semester. One is on Asia and one is on the Civil War and the 1800 s. I did not buy a all-in-one curriculum for these I just found really good books that we are using as our spying for the unit hopefully we'll do a lot of cooking and field trips

We just ordered a literature guide for the first time from Where’d you learn that. Excited to try it! We love and use CLE math as well! ❤

My 6th grade boy will be doing Biblioplan year 1 with us for history, Apologia swimming creatures for science, horizons math 6 for math. Fix it Grammar level 2 and Sequential Spelling we'll be continuing with. We've been all over the place with writing. Tried All things Fun and Fascinating in May and he hated it, so we're going to try Just Write in the Fall. I like the idea of doing a literature guide but I just don't know how to fit everything in!

I’m just curious. Why didn’t you start biblioplan at ancient times? Trying to figure out where we should start.

A lot of the things you mentioned I have been on the fence about. I think I’m going to go for it. I haven’t heard anyone else talk about IEW. Do you have a flip through?
