Another mom said GH full credit govt, economics, finance and .5 for logic or critical thinking. So 3.5 credits.

Yes! I recently saw that as well. I think it will depend on what we end up using from the course - it is a lot! I'm excited though 😊

We have done the Sonlight election lapbook - we did it for the last presidential election. Highly recommend and lots of fun!

My daughter started it last year! And she has sadly not been able to finish it, yet! Hopefully we can get it done before the end of September!

Hey! I keep going back-and-forth on what we are going to do for a personal finance type course for high school. A lot of people like guess hollow, I know, but I do not like programs that center around reading, textbooks, or things online, so, I am really trying to decide what to do. Did you find yourself having a few programs you were looking at

If you aren't into all the books, I would take a look at Dave Ramsey's Foundations in Personal Finance for high school. We did the middle school version years ago and loved it, and plan to work in the high school version hopefully this year as well. I also did purchase the Life of Fred Financial Choices. You might like the new Not Consumed Consumer Math course (if you don't mind faith based resources) - store.notconsumed.com/collections/homeschool/products/consumer-math-for-real-life?aff=494 I will have a full review and walkthrough next week, but we will also be using this next year for my oldest. It is more like a workbook than anything else.

Also! I have considered grabbing one of their narration notebooks. I remember you’ve talked about them before. But I cannot remember if you have shown any samples of what your older kids have done, if they have been fine with you showing that on KZfaq. I would love to know what subjects you use and what your expectations are. I keep meaning to include narration, but we never get around to it.

I haven't shown their actual work on KZfaq because of privacy. Essentially they do written narration each day - I have them write about whatever they are interested in writing about their reading from the previous day. My oldest usually also doodles or draws, my middle guy only writes. I don't require it of my youngest at all unless she wants to write something down. Most people would have their kids do narration a couple of times each week, but I have them do it as part of their daily activities, but they get to choose the subject they are writing about - it is usually either History or English. We do so much discussion in our day-to-day that I know they completely understand the material, the narration journal is more just an extra thing.

I really want to try the Guest Hollow gov/econ/finance course! I've been hesitant to jump into it, so maybe I'll follow along with you this year to see if this is doable for me :)

I'm really excited about it! It is a lot, and trying to figure out exactly what I want to use is taking a good bit of planning. But, it is a lot of fun to go through the books!

@@Townsendhouse1 I tend to get really overwhelmed with their guides bc of all the choices - will I miss an important concept if I don't watch the videos? what if I skip the wrong book? LOL - it's a dilemma for me!
