I was humbled by my 8 year old the other day. Earlier in the week I reminded her that self control was one of the fruits of the spirit (after a meltdown). So the other day, when I was losing patience, she came up to me in the kitchen and said “Mom, remember patience is one of the fruits of the spirit”. It made me stop and smile “Yes it is” ❤ The Lord uses even our little ones to correct us and sanctify us 🙏🏽 Bless you Sherry

Thank you for the recommendations! Elisabeth Elliot was such a gifted writer. Just finished reading "Through Gates of Splendor" and currently reading ""Passion and Purity". Next, I'll be ordering The Shaping of a Christian Family. Thanks again! Sometime ago, I watched your video as part of my morning devotional, but this time, I can't wait for tomorrow, so I clicked on it instantly. 💕 this kind of videos really blesses me and I'm sure many other moms too. Definitely watching that again tomorrow with a notebook! Thank you for your wisdom! Speaking of, I had a situation today that I would love your help with because I know you've endured a lot of it. How do you handle judgement? Specifically, we've been very blessed, and we get lots of comments like, "must be nice..." or people coming to our house and commenting on the clutter or the things we have or how we've maintained it... I'm just having a very hard time not letting those things affect me. Thank you.

Sorry for not responding earlier. Something Jim Elliot once said has stayed with me: All we have to be is A.U.G., or Approved Unto God. Every person is allowed to have an opinion, but each of us only answers to God in the end. What someone else may or may not think is irrelevant as long as I know God approves.

I have never heard that definition of “sound mind”before. That really made me stop and think. Self control is one of the fruits of Gods Spirit. How important it is to have a sound mind!! Thank you for sharing that. Also, your laugh makes me smile. So full of joy!! ❤️

Praise God! I heard from Graham Cooke that when we practice self-control, at least one of the other fruits of the Spirit are present as well. Makes sense!
