How do we Homeschool AND get all the housework done? And without having to nag everybody??? There are several productivity tools and helpful tips that I've learned along the way to help us not only manage our homeschool day and the task lists, but also weekends and summers too!
This homeschool mom has tried a lot of different chore systems and there's one thing I think we can all agree on....we don't want to have to hold our children's hands forever. At some point, it would be nice if our children just knew what their daily responsibilities were. What are they supposed to accomplish for their homeschool? What daily chores should they complete during the homeschool week? Keeping the house tidy is a team effort. Mom, Kids, and yes.....even Dad! Did you know untidy homes can cause stress on relationships?!?!?!

I don't combine kid laundry. They have their own baskets and their own laundry day. Their clothes are washed 1x/wk on their laundry day....No sorting necessary. I wash all colors together (we stay away from white clothes haha) on cold. Then the child puts away their clothes. This system has worked for years for me!

That’s a GREAT idea!! My laundry is always separate from everybody else. And then my sons. But it is starting to get more confusing as my daughters’ clothes are starting to all look alike! So if I sort, I don’t always sort correctly. :)

My husband loves a clean kitchen as well when he gets home! I honestly stopped letting kids do school on the island so that this was manageable 😂

We do the picture room cleaning thing for my daughter too!! It’s the ONLY things that works and I actually do it for myself too (mama with adhd). We do where my daughter takes pictures of her room and she “marks-up” and circles what needs to be dealt with. Feels like a game for her. Then she can take an after picture to compare and show off to us

Lol!!! The cube timers are definitely a favorite!! I can’t believe I actually hesitated for a year to buy them bc I had “other times that were just as good.” No they weren’t. These are so simple to use. Convenience is huge! So what’s an Etsy star jar?

Our homes trouble spots are shoes in the entry and clutter on the dining room table and hutch area. It's almost as if there is a sign that says "Drop your junk here" lol. Love all your tips!

😂truth!!! There are definitely junk magnets! What’s up with that!?!?! I cleaned out a drawer for my husband to put his wallet, keys, the mail, etc. the drawer is directly below the part of the counter where he often drops these things. He still doesn’t consistently use the EMPTY space in the drawer! 🤪lol!

The dishes are to the kitchen, what making the bed is to the bedroom. The rooms just feel immediately “clean” when they’re done! 😉

This is great! How would you recommend doing this with young (7,4,1) children? My husband is out of town 20 days out of a month and I struggle to have the energy to stay on top of my kids and chores. I do have the penny pincher planner and love it!

With kids that young, you’d definitely need to teach them a routine. For daily chores, they can still do that. Little jobs for them. You could still do a list and use picture icons for them instead of words. But it’s all about the age appropriate chores and how quickly they can learn. My daughters started folding towels first. I sorted the laundry when they were younger, and I’d help them sort their own. But I taught them to out it away. They might not be able to check the PPP, but if you color coded which tasks were theirs, maybe they could. Assign them a symbol or a color and write their name. That’s what I tried to do with my kids.I hope that helps!

I help my 4 year old with putting away with laundry but not my older kids and I do hear that there’s no clothes and I tell them where the clean laundry is!!! We put music on when we do chores!!!

No I don’t. 😉 I have many people ask me for copies of things I’ve shown, so I’ve had to say no so I’m not constantly sending emails attachments. If I had an easier way (like a website where you could download) I would. I’ve been looking into that. Hopefully my high schooler can help me with it soon.
