I'm a Michigan homeschool mom, too, and I just found your channel! I'm doing an Anne of Green Gables unit with my 11 year old daughter, too! She's enjoying it so far. 😁💜

Totally agree about bedtime read aloud! We switched to doing read aloud at bedtime this year and it has totally changed our homeschool. We are actually getting through read alouds and everyone is enjoying it 10x more. Great idea!

Yes it is a really relaxing and easy way to get that read aloud time in for sure we have been doing this for a few years now and we get through so many more books than before

If she enjoys Anne of Green Gables, you should introduce her to LM Montgomery's lesser known heroine, Emily of New Moon. I love Anne, and Anne of Ingleside, Rainbow Valley and Rilla of Ingleside ( all about her kids) are up there with my favorite books....but Emily has my heart. She's different to Anne, more mysterious, not as loveable, but there is something endearing about her ( I've read LM thought of Emily as more like herself) and the book has that mystery element your daughter might enjoy.

Hi, curious if you have tried Math with Confidence to compare with Apologia math? Im having a hard time deciding between the two to try next year with my upcoming 2nd grader..

I have not tried Math with Confidence, so I can’t really speak to compare them. I have heard they have similarities. Maybe see if you can find a comparison video between the two on KZfaq? I have heard great things about Math with Confidence too so I’m sure whichever one you choose I can’t imagine you could go wrong.

Hi, what grade or level is your daughter doing this year ? And how are you finding lighting literature as a language arts Programme ? Thanks

We are just finishing up level 5 in Lightning Literature. We love Lightning literature so much the grammar and the reading and book analysis is so great. Writing is lacking for sure but if you have a natural knack for writing and you do not need too much breakdown and instruction, it would probably be fine for you. We have used it 3 years now

I am looking for another LA programme for my 7yo daughter.We are currently using TGATB LA which is going fine but I am looking for shorter lessons but something that gets the job done at the same time. :) I will do some research on Lightning Literature. Thanks
