oh god this track... really makes you think of dave toiling away in the relentless heat for all those months... dark, harsh, suffocating. and the violin? his sister, somewhere else in the medium, trying to hold on to her sanity, playing her last song before her curtain closes. the end of the song is gentle, like a goodbye. the violin fades, and dave reverses alone through the harsh heat

@@stoplookingatthisyougleepydoomed timeline dave and rose, for them it was months, and dave spent it grinding away on lohac. probably the beta kid that spent the most time with their planet. not entirely sure what rose was up to other than getting drunk and scrawling code on her dream wall. a part of me wants a doomed lohacbound game that can expand on questions like this, but the fact that their timeline is a dark, dead corridor that’s been closed from our view is part of it’s mystique. all we need to know is the implications of dave becoming a guy like davesprite and rose going off the deep end after she synced with her future dream self. they drifted far off in the dark and came back different

The songs on this album are so... intense and synthetic sounding. Like the game is obviously synthetic and programming but it's so complex and organized with just a hint of what's practical child torture

Love how the melody starts on an offbeat, as well as how it doesn't exactly match up with Clockwork. Time shenanigans.

Seeing my comment more than three years later is a bit jarring, especially when I disagree with it, lol. The way I'm hearing it, the main melody doesn't start on an offbeat; it just starts at an odd place in the phrase, subverting the previously set up flow of the piece. It also offsets some other melodic elements by a beat, further contributing to this feeling. So time shenanigans nevertheless, but not in the way past me thinks. I'm sure he'll get it some day 👌🏿.

And yeah. Shipping is fun. Because relationships are fun. Hussie has said that part of what Homestuck is about is friendships, specifically internet friendships. I don't think it's too far of a stretch to extend that to relationships too. Also, it's a comming of age story. About teenages. Relationships are bound to come up and also be a big deal because hey! Relationships are a big deal to a lot of teenagers.

Serious? Are you and I remembering the same Acts 1-4? Specifically Act 1. I mean. "Retrieve arms from chest!" Also, you do realize that most of the early commands were FAN suggestions and that people posted what they wanted to happen next and Hussie picked from there? This sounds like Dave's ascension into God Tier music. Really, imagine Dave on his planet and him and Rose are helping each other from their computers and then Jack appears behind him and Rose tells Dave to turn around then when Dave sees him everything gets all slow-mo and time slows down while Dave runs off to his God Tier Bed with Jack right behind him. soooo cooool!!!

I'll grant you the second part of that statement, but to the first, I must note that while you're correct about opinion-sharing, chances are posting your negative opinion of something on a song from said "something" will get a lot of people irritated with you. In essence, the comments section is meant for opinions, but from personal experience, I can say people on KZfaq take disagreeing opinions and claim they were being presented as facts.

I just don't think those are reasons to feel like Homestuck is somehow worse than it used to be. Granted, I haven't been following from the beggining, so maybe it had a different feel when reading the early Acts serially instead of archive binging. I know that the current stuff feels a lot different because I'm reading them as they come out... Also, to each his own, if we disagree, oh well. sorry for the mini rant x)
