I’ve started doing my own gel nails ever since I got the Mylee full works kit last Christmas and omg I have saved soooo much money!!! I used to spend £25 every 2 weeks having them done but couldn’t justify it anymore after my son was born. I love doing them myself now though and the more I’ve done them, the better I’ve got. Painting with your non-dominant hand takes practice but it pays off as I’ve even managed to do some nail art too. I really recommend the Mylee brand! Xx

This video has inspired me to book a day off to catch up on life! I’ve been feeling exactly the same like I’m constantly chasing my tail! Tonight I could’ve sat doing nothing because I was so tired but I was annoyed knowing I’ve got many things to do still, so I’ve sat and sorted out my bedroom tonight then put fresh covers on the bed and I’m already feeling much better knowing that’s one thing ticked off!🙌🏽

I get this. My kids have just turned 3 & 1 and I'm a full time midwifery student, so self care is very hard to come by. The mental to do list is absolutely knackering

Ah gosh you’re the real MVP 👏🏼♥️ I think it’s hard to prioritise ourselves as mums, but we are all only human and need to look after ourselves so that we can look after our babies ♥️

I’m so pleased to have seen this video as I have struggled before to take a day off when the kids are in childcare (I remember being so embarrassed to tell the childminder once I nearly didn’t!) but I definitely think it needs to be done from time to time, absolutely priceless not being on a schedule or juggling children so you have inspired me to do the same again before too long! Xx

It’s such a weird one isn’t it - although when my line manager at work asked what I was doing on my day off, I told her and she (also a mum) was like “omg I’m so jealous, what a genuinely idea” haha! I just thought, you know what, I need some time to sort my life out hahha! 😂👏🏼

I really like your cooking videos and also clothing hauls for George I am a mum of 4 children my eldest is almost 13 and then I have an almost 8 year old then a 4 year old and then a 15 month old so life for me in constant on the go thankfully I am a stay at home mum I couldn’t imagine trying to fit work around the kids but I sometimes miss having just 1 little one to look after having 4 is really hard and always feel guilty for not giving them the time they all need also love some decoration type hauls too ❤

Supermarket bits costed about £30 this week and hello fresh is £30-£40 too ♥️ it changes every week based on what top up bits we need to buy but we spend between £60-£100 on food weekly at the moment (the cost of everything is maddddd rn!)

Am i the only mom who cant relate to the whole “i never get time to eat a nice meal and watch a video” thing? I mean i have an 18 month old, i cook, clean, eat while he’s awake and entertaining himself or eating as well, and during his naps I work (self employed) my house is pretty much always clean and I also have plenty of time to take care of myself i.e skincare, home laser, home nails when he’s down for the night etc … i just dont get it when people say i can never eat or do self care etc i mean yh during the week understandable due to the rush for work/ nursery etc but what about the weekends? shan is off 3 days a week why can’t she have a decent breakfast / self care days then? No hate just genuinely curious

I think you answered the question for yourself you get most things done when he is napping or down for the night 😂😂 squeezing things in between does feel rushed and I think that’s what Siân is saying in her blog - it’s more about the quality of time you have whilst napping / sleeping I mean in between a big work call and you toddler / baby wakes up from a nap you are going to have to get off the zoom call pretty sharpish . Having time is what I ca relate to in this video - the only time I can personally relax is when my toddler is asleep

I think it depends if you have an easy child or not!! A full child free day to do self care/jobs is rare for most mums so I know I appreciate those days instead of fitting it in during naps/after bedtime

If you have a spouse that works long hours or away from home like Shan's does, you'll end up doing most of the household chores (that's usually split between couples) all on your own, on top of working full time. You may have a spouse that is home more often and more hands on to give you that extra free time to treat yourself. Working from home & having regular pampering sessions is a luxury most working mums can dream of! This is not meant to be a bitter response, just wanted to say that most mums don't have it as easy as you do.
