I am wizard Elric. I look after the forest and it's balance between light and darkness. I cast morning dew on the grass and songs of the birds. I protect animals over night and talk to wood spirits. My mission is to bring the magic of peacefulness to the forest, which the man value so much. However I've got only such a power, you can give me. You are the one who must help me to look after our forest so my magical power never dies.
Enjoy your wizard and this wood carving and whittling project folks. If you follow the steps, its easy and reasonably quick!

Vladimir, You are not the oldest wood carver on You Tube but in my opinion you are the BEST at getting beginners like me to feel successful as an entry level wood carver. I would entertain supporting your efforts financially but am not certain how. At any rate, THANK YOU! Dan Walsh

I do love your videos Vladimir. Alway so helpful, very easy to understand each part is in a step by step tutorial. I’m looking forward to giving this one a try. Could also be turned into a Santa pained with a red and white stocking hat and given as an early Christmas present to your friends and families for the tree. Does anyone know how to get that off of your knives I live in a RV so at times gets damp my new Flexcut has a little rust, thanks.

use some wire wool to get the rust off,then when you are not using it,wipe Vaseline on the blade,or a little bit of oil. Moisture & high carbon steal are not a go0d mixture.

Hi Tom. Thanks for your kind words brother. I am about to buy new stuff from USA :D I am testing everything I can so I have some tools from switzerland, germany, slovakia, uk and of course some czech stuff. :) I know one guy who lives on the borders of Czech republic and Austria who does nice knives from old rails and train wheels. :D Where do you shop?

Question for you. Is there an easy way to cut the rectangle to turn it into the triangle? I have a scrollsaw but I dont think I'd be able to get it perfectly straight like you have it.

Good question! I can see few options: first is to put it in vice and use handsaw. This takes a bit of practice to make it straight. If you have longer stick, it can be done with skill saw (hand circular saw) by setting 45degree angle. Third on the bandsaw with "v-shape" jig. And fourth on the scroll saw with that "v-shape" jig. Or I would try to just hold it diagonally without the jig in the scroll saw (NOT in the band saw!!)... How big is your block of wood? I do the first option. :)

I tried the little smiling wood spirit so much times, that i wasted all my wood. I suck. What to do? Im left over with only 2 blocks of basswood :(((((((((((((

Hi mate. We all are in the moments when we want to give up.. but when we do give up, what is next? I would buy some more basswood and kept going.. try to think that you know how to carve and one day you will get there. practice is a must. ;-) good luck
