Around 2 am to 6 am is just so peaceful. No cars, no people, everything’s silent and the air just feels different. Especially on a cold night with the moisture In the air ready to cover the grass with the morning dew, feels so crisp. The loneliness is peaceful and it gets quite addicting.

I'm getting older day after day and nothing ever seems to slow down anymore. I spent a long time in my teens worrying about being and adult, but the truth is I should have been worried about being a good teenager. I listened to this with my then partner over a long distance voice call, and to this day it brings me back to that night. I missed out on too many nights like that, being in love, being slap happy with sleep deprivation, being free. Just here to leave a small mark on a video that means a lot to me. Watching this on September 26, 2022. It's been 4 years since this video released. I remember watching it the day it came out; I had moved to a different city for the first time, to pursue schooling. Listening to this on a warm fall night helped ease my fears about an uncertain future. I've grown up and have graduated since then, and it seems this video has grown too, with 18 million views! Thanks for helping provide one of my first memories away from home and making things feel better. Cheers!

Its strange how things turn out. Weed is legal now in thailand with restrictions and everything is ultra expensive these days, Trump became president and everything I grew up with is old now. This must be how the elderly feel which isn't bad, just different. I just think most people use their smart phones too much now.

i turned twenty this year. sometimes i just feel so lost and helpless. i live with my parents and as much as i would love to move out and be an adult, the thought terrifies me, and i could list a million reasons why. this music, the visuals, the comments, they all feel like a corner away from it all - a short moment of solace and bittersweet nostalgia. i don't think i will ever find a feeling like this in the real world, anywhere away from this video. i have a loving family, friends, partner, but listening to this, i'm alone. you know, the kind of "alone" that you don't want to share with anyone, no matter who it is. a simple solitude. the feeling of homesickness even though you're sitting by your own windowsill. and knowing that there are so many others who understand this feeling, it makes it a little more special. like we all share the same secret without knowing what it even is. it makes all the stress a little more bearable. to whoever is reading this - thank you for being here and sharing this small escapism with us. it's all going to be okay💜

Anyone else feel like this playlist in particular manages to scratch an itch that other Lo-Fi cannot? Nighttime for me is the perfect time to unwind and have a clear head. It's like this peaceful limbo where the whole world is on "Pause" and you can just relax in your own existence. @@mooniepoo “bad” and “good” are social constructs. Have people died of overdosing on marijuana? Never, and you cannot say the same for tobacco, alcohol and pills like Iboprufen or Acetaminophen. Do people develop bad habits because of the addiction? Yes, and that happens to everyone. Weed is just a plant and is legal in a couple of states as well as in Uruguay and the Netherlands. So no, not all drugs are bad, drugs include but are not limited to insulin and anesthesia. Marijuana may be a drug, but it is far from what society may consider “bad”.

This reminds me of the time I couldn't sleep, so I left the house at about 2am and went for a bike ride. It was really warm and humid, and I just biked down a tree lined road to a graveyard and a church near an intersection. There was a traffic light and no cars around, and I just sat there and watched the lights change. It was so surreal and peaceful at the same time; I've never felt more at peace.

Man, music like this takes me back to nights where I would be up all night with my brothers and cousins. Playing video games passed our bedtimes, laughing, eating food, and just bonding with one another over our shared interests. I miss those days, where you could just stay in that moment forever and ever and it would never get old. It feels like a lifetime ago, where we could be kids and stay out until dark and just have fun. But like all good things, it came to an end too quickly. Now here I am alone, while everyone i know has moved on to new things. All I have left of them is my memories and it doesnt feel like enough anymore. I wish I had just one day where I could go back in time and relive those moments. Before everything got so complicated, before my friend passed, before my siblings grew up, before I grew up and was left to my own devices. If you're reading this, then I thank you. I hope whoever you are and wherever you're from, that you are living your life the best way you can. Surrounded by friends and loved ones, in a place that makes you happy. Have yourself a good night/day.

My happy place: a top-floor studio apartment above the streets of a neon city. Car headlights streaking by, with a haze of fog creeping over the skyline. Office lights won't get out. I'm in a dark room, quite cozy but not cramped. Enough space to feel at home, but with the knowledge that my space is also down there, on the street, with all those people rushing by in the pouring rain. Umbrellas are drawn, trench coats are worn, cigarettes are smoked. There are vogue cafes on every corner, and the city never sleeps. It's a dangerous, gritty environment, but it makes you feel alive: like every day is a mission from GTA 4. It's perpetually dark but also invitingly claustrophobic. There are people everywhere. They aren't going away. The only escape you have from the business is your little studio flat, far above but just close enough to the action so you can feel comfortably surrounded while also allowed to be yourself. Neither isolated nor boxed in. Just the right amount of people, with everything and everyone you could ever need a mere 5-minute walk away.

It's always comforting to come back to this video and see the person in the window. To them, it's a normal view, dreary even, just a dull suburban neighborhood right next to a grey cityscape. They're probably sticky from the humidity, but the rain is cool, and they have a headache from sitting inside all evening with their friend, so they light a cig and open the window to try to escape. I relate to that feeling of being trapped in your own life. That's why this art, where the perspective lets you see past the cityscape and into an endless blue mist, relieves my tension. I come here stressed and frustrated, unable to see past my close surroundings, just like the person in the video. It's comforting to know there's more out there that I can't see.

5 years huh where has the time gone? Anyone else still coming back to this one? 😮‍💨 Feels like yesterday, the first time I fell asleep listening to this one. Whole different world back then, crazy how people and places change with time. 😅😢Crazy how something so small can stick with you throughout life, you know? 🧐 I find myself back here time and time again. It’s always when I need to relax and find my peace of mind. Me going in to autopilot and saying to myself “take a breath, breathe, you’re doing okay, right now you need to sleep. The problems of today can be solved tomorrow with a fresh approach.” I just wanted to share how this video’s affected my life and see if anyone can relate. Either through this video or another. 😅😊 I hope everyone’s doing okay and hanging on during these trying times, you’re not alone. This reminds me of a night with my mom, it was 3-4 am and we both had waken up. I was in the same bed with her bc our ac broke and her room had a window AC for the time being, until it was fixed. She turned over to me as I was playing on my phone with a smirk and said,"you wanna go to McDonald's?" I obviously said yes, bc they had those carmel mcflurries or whatever they were from around the world, and I wanted some fries aswell. So we got up, jammies and all, and drove over to McDonald's. I remember the air being humid (like always in Texas) but still fresh like spring. I think it was around spring time anyways. We had the windows down, going across the wacky interstate, with minimal cars in sight. I remember the wind flowing thru my 'kitchen' ringlets, bc my hair wasn't long enough to b in a bun without falling in the back. On the drive back, I took out the weirdly shaped spoon, clear plastic and hallow until the actual spoon part, and i asked my mom,"not complaining, but why is the spoon shaped like this?" she glanced over, saying it was something about how it was what they used to stir the flurries. I loved every bit of that night/morning. We sat and ate our food on her bed, watching some new tv show she was hooked on. And during one of the commercial breaks she turned to me and chuckles,"you know this is never happening again, cuz im gonna b dog tired at work" I nodded with a grin, because i had just stuffed my face with fries. After that, she went to sleep as I played on my phone. It was freezing in her room, but it was better than being hot lol, so i wrapped myself up in my blanket and proceeded with whatever i was doing. 10/10 would relive it again.

i'm really glad you posted this comment ❤️ my mom and I used to do stuff like this when I was a teenager. this story made me miss her so much. she passed away about 2 years ago, and this made me think of some of the fun, spur-of-the-moment times we spent together! i hope you and your mom go to McDonalds in the middle of the night again, have a McFlurry for me and my mom❤️

Walking on the beach in South Florida w this playing on my speaker some bud or a cart and then around downtown after work when the sun is setting or it’s late at night is such a nice way to unwind when I need some nostalgic vibes or vibes that make me feel like I’m at home. I grew up in South Florida but moved away from most of my family really young to North Carolina. I was then exposed to a lot of nature (mountains, forests, waterfalls, fields, rapids, etc.) and grew up in the sticks with alot of kids who had adventures in nature and it made me appreciate the beauty of life without the need for superficial shit, technology, and allowed me to develop connections with people i had never thought I would be close with. However, as I got older, I was exposed to the fast party lifestyle and having the addictive personality I do slowly fell into drugs and alcohol. Eventually I had to go to a real rehab (not state ran facilities) since my family stopped talking to me and consequences like ODs, withdrawals, charges, enemies, and toxic relationships of all kinds started to hit me. I moved back to South Florida since most of my family was down there and it was rehab central. At first I fell into the same thing down here but fortunately I have survived by the grace of God. These days I’ve had that same connection in the rooms of AA. I am able to go out in nature like I used to and feel that same energy I felt when I was a kid. Playlists like this remind me of the night adventures I used to go on as a kid enjoying the nature and small town life I used to live. If any of you struggle with addiction or depression or any kinds of demons I’m here to let you know it gets better. Reach out to those who will give you support and enjoy the things that give you fulfillment in life.❤

This video was my go to during one of the most stressful times of my life. Studying to get my license to operate a nuke plant, my career riding on test after test. This video seemed to settle my nerves and focus me on the task at hand. Fast forward 4 years, and I’m in the need to hit the books again pretty hard. I searched for days to find this video, kicking myself for not saving it. How did I not save it?! KZfaq just knew and it popped up in my recommended today. Damn… so good. I get asked the same question too. In my response, I feel like lyrics control the meaning of the song to whatever they say. Yeah it can be interpreted differently, but it’s still limited to those words. But songs without having any singing is so much more personal. It become the soundtrack to your life, to your thoughts, And to your emotions! It’s more connected and meaningful to YOU and no one else, because your life is so unique. I will never understand why LoFi gives me a feeling of nostalgia, or such a feeling or euphoria. Like driving with the windows down really late at night. Or staring out your window on a rainy day? Walking in a park, as the cold brisk autumn air shakes the leaves out of the trees. Or feeling the heat of the beating sun on a hot summer day in the middle of manhattan? Or curled up in your blankets watching anime with the soft Christmas lights beaming against your wall. How? And why are all these separate and almost opposite things connected in some way? they all feel the same when I listen to lofi; perhaps it’s a reminder that we are all connected; we are all just energy floating around in the middle of space surviving and learning to love.

The feeling of isolation without loneliness at 2 A.M. Looking outside of the window as the raindrops fall and hit your hand, your cigarette hissing periodically at Heaven's sorrow. You feel the cold freshness seep into your body as you lean your head against the desk that was once covered in paperwork due in a few hours now cleared to give yourself purchase. You stare out into the world, aware that there are probably plenty of other people awake and staring at the sky alongside you but you don't care. The feeling that the sky you're looking up at, the world that you're conscious in is just a little more YOURS with less people you have to share it with. The sound of rolling thunder breaks your waking dream as you look up at the sky, the embers of your cigarette turned black long ago. "Hm..." is all you can manage as you draw your hand back inside and take a new cigarette out from its box.

I don't know why everyone has had similar experiences as the one I'm about to mention- maybe it's quarantine and the late, sleepless summer nights that came with it, this specific lofi, or a sign of the times itself. I also had one of those incredibly-peaceful-and-new experiences late at night somewhere around summer 2020- it had been months of isolation, where I was fortunate enough to rediscover an old, loved hobby of writing. I was listening to this and working on a short story (which had been a newfound type of excitement for the past few weeks) with my window open as the most beautiful summer breeze drifted through me. It was on my top floor, which had just been done up so everything felt new and perfectly quiet. I had a few more moments of total serenity like that over the next few late nights of writing (and being allowed to sleep on the top floor), something I felt I had only just discovered then. I'm sure I'd been peaceful before, but this was something like bliss. I don't really know how else to describe it, and every so often I come back to those feelings, the lofi I listened to that specific night (or the ones I could remember) and pick out the silver linings of quarantine. Again, I was very lucky, and I can only hope that others were able to feel that sense of peace or will be able to at some point in their lives. It's truly extraordinary, and I can say with confidence, or at least hope, that those nights changed my outlook on life a little. I'm happier to be by myself, with some music, and doing things I love. It's become so much more important to me to just stop and live. Please don't forget, if you've read this far, to take time to cultivate moments of joy you will never forget. I hate to think life only amounts to money and work. In fact, I know it doesn't. Listen to some music, drink tea, create things you are passionate and incredibly excited about, stay up late and breathe in warm air, and imagine you're the only person awake, because you may well be, as you let go, breathe out, nod your head subconsciously to the rhythm of rain behind lofi and the ebbing of your thoughts.

This single video had gotten me through the nights of quarantine. June 2021, and I still listen to this every night. This is an iconic music video for me, and I deeply appreciate it. Thank you Edit: halfway through July 2021 now. This video still brings back a lot of nostalgia. Even if 2020 was a bad year, that's when I listened to this. And I was very active online. I remember a whole bunch of people from that time. But unfortunately, not all things stay the same. I even remember going outside at night or a very quite day and sitting in my apartment's parking lot when no one was around. And I would always put this to chill there. I'm typing this as a small part of me that misses a part of 2020 where I could forget about the world's problems and really relax. Maybe I'll type more here in the future as small milestones August 29th, 2021: School started almost a month now. And I am doing so much better than I did last year. Even if the masks and Covid-19 procedures are a bit bothersome, it's way better than staying at home and doing online classes. I hope this year will turn out much better than the last. Beginning of the school year, starting out strong. February 17th, 2022: It's a new year. Things will change this year, and I hope to achieve my goals. And so far, everything has been going surprisingly well. I'm even playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which I've been playing for over a year. At least I get some comfort out of it. Grades are looking good, I'm dieting, and definitely having more time for myself than the last 2 years. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep this up. January 4th, 2023: Wow, almost a whole year ever since I added to this comment? Yes, I'm still here and oh boy, was 2022 a hassle. A lot of plans went down the drain, but I started to gain my own money to support myself and family around me. Don't really know what to say since nothing new had really happened. Guess I'll see later on in this new year. April 7th, 2024: This will be my final update to this comment. Now my life, so far, has turned for the better. School is almost over, and big plans are coming sooner than I thought. I'm sure at least a few people have read my comment, so I thank you for reading my small updates. Here's to the future, and I wish ya'll the best.

In September of 2018, during my sophomore year of college, I stumbled upon this video. I remember because it coincided with my recent transfer to the school that semester. I vividly recall the moment in the library when, in search of white noise for studying, I discovered this gem. It turned out to be a much more pleasant alternative! and I've played it countless times since that day. This video became synonymous with study sessions and assignments. I still get nostalgic when I listen to it-just me, my laptop, and the soothing ambiance of 2am Fresh Air playing as the clock ticked late into the night. That was all 5 years ago now, I have since graduated and gotten a nice job at a different university managing labs for a chemistry department. Yet even now, as I type away on random work documents, 2am Fresh Air continues to play through my earbuds. Thank you for getting me through years of busy work! As a quick aside, I originally found this video while studying with a friend in my sophomore year. We listened to it together, and it soon became a favorite for both of us. The thing I find interesting about Lofi music is how it can sound like different moods. Some people hear it as a happy beat while others hear it as a sad one. I just think that’s cool.

LoFi makes me happy yet sad, nostalgic yet optimistic about my future, surrounded yet alone. It's a feeling I can't explain, but I have no need to explain it. Just feeling it and living in the moment is enough for me. It's 10:30 pm, I'm doing some homework. I see friends having good times, 'cause it's saturdaynight. But I'm in my room, alone. People are with friends, lovers, but not me. I have my peace with it, my time will come eventually. It's not bad being alone. It gives you a chance to really think about yourself. Sometimes that's a bad thing, but sometimes you can actually feel yourself growing as a person. I don't need anyone else to make me feel complete, I have myself and I love me. It's a thought everyone should live by, but that's hard and I know that. I don't live by it myself very often. But I do tonight. Tonight I feel complete. Thanks for uploading, this is giving me the best vibes I can possibly experience while sober.

I am listening to this as I drive to the airport at 3am. I roll my window down and the cold early morning air hits my face. It'll be a couple hours until the sun comes up, but I have no time to waste. I am not late, but on time. Everything is fine, I am the only car on the highway. Last year I pursued my dream of becoming a pilot. I am now flying planes myself and I couldn't be more content! Let me tell you one thing: If everything seems to go wrong, if life isn't going your way: Everything has it's way of working out. If 2019 wasn't your year, maybe 2020 is. Maybe 2021 will be your year. There is no way of knowing. Just one thing is certain: Things will start to go your way! There will be a time where you'll look back at your life and think 'everything is fine now'. Just be optimistic and keep your head up. If something tries to knock you down, don't let it! That being said, have a great day, smile and be strong, random stranger on the internet! You are awesome!

Back in 2019, I use to play this when I was winding down for bed. During that time, I was going through something difficult …but I revisit this video often to remind myself , “Things may be hard for you now, but this will prepare you for your blessings later.” Because every time I revisit this video, I can see how it all worked out in my favor.

This reminds me of sleeping over my best friend's house when I was a kid. His house was perched on a hill overlooking the city and the random lights would come through the dark of his room while we watched Adult Swim and slowly fell asleep. That part of my life, nothing much was going on, yet I remember it so vividly thanks to vids like this. Thanks and god bless.
