Күн бұрынHonda 300 Fourtrax transfer case oil change. I use Honda GN4 oil 10-40w as recommended by Honda to change the oil on my transfer case. This is the oil that I used: amzn.to/2EhQuE7

Honda isn’t lying I had a 2013 foreman 500 and we put some regular ole 10w 40 and working a few miles the clutch started sticking… we just loaded it on the trailer took it to the Honda shop told them what happened. They told us the same thing you have to use Honda oil. They adjusted the clutch swapped the oil and it ran fine till 5,000 miles it got sold still with no issues.

The drain hole bolt and the check hole bolt are easier to remove from the other side with a gear wrench.

200 cc = 6.76 US ounces. (But always fill until it runs out of the check plug hole)

What about the rear oil? Use Honda 10/40? Or 80 weight?

The oil I used is in the description. For the "transfer case" 10-40w honda brand.

I got a 97 fourtrax and looking to change all 3 of the gearoil things. Can I just throw in 80 weight typoid gear oil in all three? I saw you used motor oil in this.

You are not supposed to. Some people have though. I don’t know how it has affected longevity.

Great video !!! Question ( and I didn’t even know I had these three oil spots) but if it’s hard to shift and I’ve been having mysterious oil patches on the ground under my trx300 would it be a leak ? And is there a gasket if I have a leak?

Trevor Pitts there is a seal between the cases. Won’t lie that would be a bigger to replace.

I would not put 30 weight in there. Either 10-40 or I would put hypoid gear oil in there to potentially stop that leak. A lot of guys will put that 80 weight synthetic hypoid gear oil in there

Bryan Hansen ok awesome. So I hate to be a pain but your vids are Friggen awesome....so if it’s a LITTLE...just a little hard to shift, into gear, and I put that hyoid oil in, think that may help? And how much oil do I put in that? Would shifting MAYBE - just possibly be something else. Machine runs mint pretty well, and it does shift, but I’ve noticed that as I’ve seen leaking, the shifting has been harder. I have a plow too.

Bryan Hansen goin to change all three. What is the best way to get them to flow out? Will they heat up? And run out easier when warm. (Peterborough On, Canada) thanks again.

It does flow better when warm. I would drive it around for maybe 5 minutes for the transfer case and differentials to warm up.

Yeah. Honda recommends their brand, but yeah.

6.76 ounces, but you fill it Until it comes out of the fill hole on the front. Like I did in the video
