Both Honda and Toyota are underestimating the popularity of their hybrid models. The hybrid versions are far more popular than the gas-only versions to the point you have to wait and pay the dealer markup. I've been looking for a Lexus RX Hybrid and all the dealerships in the Washington DC area have about 30-40 nonhybrid models sitting around while they have 1-2 hybrid models with dealer markup. Every dealership I have visited tells me the same thing; everyone wants the hybrid RX 350h.

Toyota/Lexus seems to be having production problems and can’t meet demand. A friend here in Vancouver has had a RAV4 Hybrid on order for more than a year. Honda, OTOH, advertises that the CR-V Hybrid is not only available there’s a $750 incentive for current Honda owners. As for the Accord the majority of trims are hybrid. Honda came up so behind Kia....our optima sxl fron 2017 is so more lux!! Nappa leather in aubergine and heated front and cooled seats....heated rear....pano roof covered by ultra suede and so quiet! Just sayin!
