Guys, Honda has put an extended 10 year warranty on the daytime running lights for 2016-2017 Accords. This means they will replace them for free! I just saw a video saying that, and I googled it and it’s true. I called a Honda dealership and they told me they’d replace both my headlights (even though only one light is out). They said they’ll do both because if one is out, the other is probably coming right behind it. An antibody quoted me at about $500 to replace one side, but now with Honda I’m getting both for free!

I had my 2016 driver side go out too. Honda covered it under warranty. The headlight assembly was $440 and installation was $118. Glad I didn't have pay for that. But your quote at $1500 is insane. Hope Honda helps you out.

I had the same problem with the LED Daytime running lights on my 2017 Honda Accord Touring. Both driver and passenger side LED's failed within two months of each other. Good news! Honda does have a recall on these lights, which has been extended to 10 years, (no matter the mileage). So Honda Accord owners may take their vehicle to a Honda dealer for free replacement of the entire headlight assembly under the recall. My local Honda dealership replaced both of my headlight assembly's for free. Hope this helps!👍🏼

2017 Honda Accord Hybrid, 16,659 miles and the first of my LED DRLs has failed. This in just over two years. Extremely dissatisfied with Honda on this one. I will see about the warranty replacement and wait for the other one to fail, hopefully while still in warranty. But wait...how long until the replacement fails...another two years. In the past I have owned Hondas for 10+years and only replaced wipers, tires, and brake pads. (Well of course the oil changes and air filters too). Seriously, this is a problem! Honda has a service bulletin on this. Service Bulletin 19-042 and it will cover the replacement of the headlight assembly (one or both) unlimited miles up to 10 years from the date of purchase.

They were sued. As of 2019, there’s now a 10 yr warranty from the date you bought the vehicle, just take it in for a free replacement

I have a 2016 Honda Accord Touring, 51k, the LED strip also went out. The Honda Dealer replaced it at no cost to me under the Extended Warranty. Remember that all advisors are not the same. Some are smart and some are not. That's why some of them charge customers because they don't know how to claim the Honda Manufacture back or don't know how to read the instruction. Smart guy can do the right job for you. Therefore, to avoid arguing with the consultant if he wants to charge you, go to different Honda dealers, they can do the job for you free of charge.

Changed my 2016 accord drl led strip 2 times in less then 2 years for driver and passenger side. Now the replacement led strip is dead again. That's strike 3 in less then 2 years, 42000km mileage. 1 more year before my warranty runs out. Extremely disappointed to see this in Honda. They should warranty the replacement led instead of the flat since all the replacement doesn't last more then a year.

Had the same exact issue, I have the same car same year. Happened at like 38,000 miles but thankfully I paid for extended warranty to 70,000 miles. Went to the dealer and it took about two and a half hours but they fixed it. I was looking at the paperwork and the warranty saved me about $500. The $1500 the dealer quoted you was probably for the LED lights on Touring model. All the other models have the cheaper $500 headlight. But still Honda really messed up with this. Never buying a Honda again.

Here is my story to share with you. I have a 2016 Honda Accord Touring model with a 7 year, 140,000 KM extended warranty. At the 2.5 year mark, the passenger side DRL burnt out. I had this DRL replaced at no charge because I was told that I had purchased the extended warranty. At this time, there was no notice of the Honda extended warranty to 10 years. I paid nothing for this repair. The price I saw on the invoice was almost $1500 plus labor and taxes. I questioned this price? How can one headlight assembly cost almost $2000 to replace with labor and taxes included? What if both headlight assemblies had been damaged in a collision? Would that cost $4000 for just two headlight assemblies? What a rip off. The entire car was worth for $18,000 and they were selling two headlights for $4000 installed??? Five months later, the driver side DRL failed and that was replaced at no cost to me. I saw the invoice and the price was about $1200 plus labor. No cost to me. However, the installer did not attach the lower bumper assembly properly and I now have a large gap between the Headlight assembly and the plastic bumper which is now slightly mobile too and it is obvious that they did not attach the bumper properly by the wheel well and that this plastic bumper is not clipped in properly still. Sigh- I have to bring it back in again for them to "fix" it again. I probably will buy Toyota next time.

Call and complain, call the Honda complaint center, I had to do the same with my 1999 Chevy when it was brand New, they eventually had a recall for the problem it had & they fixed it for free.

Just brought 2 2004 Toyota Camry headlights, $84.00! 2 fog lights $27.00! LED for all $35.00. Bumper cover and grill $155.00! Putting them together Monday.

So the Honda Accord any year from 2014 to 2017 Has an unlimited milage, 10 year warranty on the "defected" daytime running bulbs.

There is an extended warranty from Honda on the 2016-17 models.This is a 10 year warranty from the time of purchase so both of mine are being replaced Oct 12th for free. I have a 2017 so it's covered til 2027

Went on Amazon found the light for $300 but decided not to replace it because I'm scared it just will happen again. hold on the led strip its only a strip , just put a led bulb (jdm astar) and it will work, it will brighten that up .

Honda Extended the warranty 10 years unlimited miles. Don’t let them screw your over. Bro go somewhere else to another dealer or keep making calls. Or unless you want to take the headlights apart. If you do heat them up in an Oven for 5-7 minutes after you have taken all screws and are ready to unglue them.

Just take your car to any Honda dealership, they will replace for free... It's a reacall on those headlights. It took me an appointment and hour and half and both of them were replaced.

You can take that ass to court I used to be a Honda tech technician those headlights warranty I don't know what state you live in but you can come to Arkansas and get you another set Little Rock Arkansas but wherever you live you can do the same they just extended the warranty on them headlights I replace them all day long for free it's a dealer warranty on them headlights if whatever side go out that's the side we have to replace and throw your old headlight in the trash who have to take off the whole bumper and Grill to get to that light or you can call corporate and let them know

all 2016 and 2017 are under extended warranty, 10 years UNLIMITED mileage. call Honda, NOT the dealership, give them your VIN and they will email you the extended warranty to show the dealer, make an appointment with the dealer BUT don't tell them until you get there TO DROP your car, they MUST replace it AT NO COST to you, show them the email and they will be shocked you knew this....I have replaced mines twice already at 65,000 miles....REMEMBER DONT CALL THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS, call Honda directly. good luck

They are OE, headlights for a 2017 Honda sport with DRLs and standard headlight bulb (yellow). I had the headlight bulbs replaced with LED bulbs. And the turn signals from yellow to white LEDS. I HOPE THIS MAKING SENSE. I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS.

There should be no questions asked by Honda to replace this. Nobody signed up for this when they bought the car. Imagine replacing both out of pocket, you're looking at about $3k for bulb replacement. It seems that most are going out at or around the basic warranty end. I had the driver side replaced with about 1k miles left on the warranty. I called Honda customer service and told the the other may go out and sure enough it's also now half out on the other light. I'm not paying them for it regardless of what they may tell me. This is a lease and I've leased 6 Honda/Acuras in a row since 02. I think I've been loyal enough. Ridiculous!
