In this video I will drain and fill the transmission fluid on a 2015 Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder engine.

Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. I have completed the work and now waiting for the Honda Bond to cure. I changed the spark plugs also. I purchased all parts from my local Honda dealer.

Hi, why are you supposed to go through the gears 3x? Is that a must? Will something happen to the car if I don’t? 😅

Good question, it’s to ensure the fluid travels through all the shift solenoids, goes through all the oil bores inside the transmission. Which in turn will make the oil level check more accurate.

Hello, just a update: yesterday pounded on a 21mm 12pt socket onto those wheel locks, first one was tough didn't want to go on, the second got stuck in the socket and I had to pound on it a half hour to get wheel lock out of socket and the last two I got off in like 3 min, so that is done, was really easy once got going, ty for the help along the way, is it ok to drive without the engine splash shield or should I buy one?

I would recommend buying one. It’s best to not drive without it. I’m glad you were able to to remove all the wheel locks! Just replace them with regular wheel bolts. Torque spec is 140nm

Thank you for your help. Can you help me understand what does 36lbs mean when you put on the wrench. Im having trouble understanding that. Thank you 😊

Yes I can clarify. Basically it’s how tight the bolt should be tightened. 36 ftlbs (foot pounds) is the torque specification for this bolt. This is achieved by using a torque wrench (not shown in this video) If you want a much more in depth explanation let me know. 👍🏼

Hi I really need an advoice, I bought a 2013 Honda Accord 2.4 with 104000 miles on it. I chcecked the carfax but I couldn't find anything regards to the Transmission oil change. If it has never done until now, do you think is it good or bad to change the transmisson oil now? Can you please give me your opinion on this

Sure the service interval under normal conditions is 110,000 miles so if performed at 104,000 you will be perfectly fine to replace. The service interval under severe conditions such as towing, regular mountain driving uphill and downhill in low gears or hard acceleration and deceleration constantly. That service interval would be dropped down to 60,000 miles. But if the car was driven under normal conditions. City driving, highway normal acceleration for the majority of its life the occasional mountain driving here and there it would be considered normal use and changing at 104,000 is okay according to Honda. Chances are it was driven under normal conditions but if possible ask the previous owner how they drove the car. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks for sharing. 2015 Accord. Fluid was replaced by dealership at 50K miles and then again by me yesterday at 114K miles. Surprisingly, I got just slightly OVER 4 quarts out: probably 4.1 quarts! I only had 4 quarts of new fluid and poured all in. Loosened the check bolt from above on level ground but couldn't watch from above (not enough light) whether or not there was a momentary drip. By the time I got under the car, there was no drip, but just slight wetness from a very thin stream near the bolt. So, if anything came out, it was miniscule. I am now anxious whether I put too little in. What to do? Should I buy another quart and simply add 0.1 quart? Should I add more and go through the check bolt rechecking process again? My initial hunch was that the dealership put too much fluid at the 50K mile change, but this is clearly not the case as otherwise a bunch would have come out through the check bolt.

Same thing happened to me. The car has been driving for over 10k miles plus a cross country trip. No issues. But if you want to be certain just get a quart and double check. The transmission is expensive that quart is cheap
