Ian... still enjoying your vids from Arizona. After owning and riding my AT for the last 6 months I’ve wrangled with the “purpose “ of the AT. I was a hard desert rider and a hard street rider. This bike compromises on both. I keep trying to ride this like a 450, that’s a no no. My point is: I believe the appropriate riding style and terrain is what you are doing not asking the bike to do what it’s not.. I appreciate the revelation.

Hi Ian, like your videos, thanks for all your work to publish these. I noticed you where very cautious with your surroundings in one of these videos, like you where scanning the landscape, could you explain, animals or people? Happy Holidays from Live Free or Die :)

Hi Double x. Thank you. I think the video you are refering to was whilst I was sitting on the edge of the Fish River Canyon. If so, it was just me taking in the silence and realizing how lucky I am to experience it.

...that's a good news! :) Sorry for Your Friend Ellen, to bad He couldn't stay to this moment, so we could see Him as well. So He's a happy grandfather now I hope :) Ian, I'm interested why You would choose the DCT transmission over manual. when buying Adventure Sport? Thank You.

MrMackowski - I tried the DCT on a 45 minute ride, no technical terrain but it just feels right. It is now easy to see why so many people like it ... plus I will not be buying many new bikes in future so must at least try it once. I find it suits my style of riding.

nice review, here in canada they are selling the 2018 and 2017 simultaneously. I bought the 2017 at quite a reduced price that's why i didn't get the 2018

donyboy73 - Hi donyboy, great MC this is, which did you get? I am still in two minds about the Adventure Sport as my 2016 has only done 19 000 kilometers now ... difficult decision next year.

I got the 2017 rally red manual shift. The adventure sports only came out this year. A friend of mine got the 2018 adventure sports dct. However we don't ride as much as you on hard terrain!

Good to see you back. I think honda should have given the choice of tubeless tyres. Other than that its a nice machine, and i personally prefer the standard model over the ATAS

Ian, i can make for you active fuel tank about 6,2 liters, it will be cheaper than cameltank does. Last year i had made by my own an extra fuel tank ant it is a amazing thing, -i can do 450km with my AT easily.

Camel make a tank that fits to the rear of the at and gives you extra capacity

Ian, what seat are you using. Is it seemless while standing. I like the moto seat it comes with as it’s easy to go the standing position, but hard on long distance sitting. Really enjoy your vids.. GA Arizona

Hi Greg. Still using the standard sest for now. Not too bad but I do stop every 90mins or so.

Ian, another great video! I'll probably move to tubeless wheels on my F800GSA. Now that you have a couple of seasons under your belt on the AT, looking back, I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Super Tenere. Strengths, weaknesses, do you miss it?
@ianlevy8765

- Hì Shayne. Good bike indeed the S10 is and yes i do miss it. Infact i had no real reason to sell it but so be it. Off road the AT is lighter snd easier to deal with but on road the S10 was more comfortable and has a better range. For my needs it was the former and whilst I could not find fault with the Yam i am happy with the Honda.

It's almost like Honda is developing the Twin in a slow lock step way. 1st great bike, but flawed. Then an "Adventure" version which dealt with the fuel range and other minor issues. I see tubeless on the horizon in a future edition. Honda is a smart company with smart engineers. I don't know why they just didn't make an adventure version out of the box, proper fuel range, tubeless tire - solved. The only reason I bought the GSA was fuel range, the weight of the Super Ten scared me off. But now I find myself spending$2,500 for tubeless wheels to solve that problem. Anyway, really looking forward to your next videos. - Cheers.

Is it safe to ride in SA? We in the States hear a lot about farmers being harmed? Good videos!

Sid Shelton - Hi Sid, it is a safe place to ride. SA is a big place and there are so many different places to see. I met a group of 9 Canadians who were on BMW’s having a great time. But yes, there are political issues that will take lots of goodwill from all sides to sort out.
