Thanks. Good Video for learning how to remove the plastic cover. My tailgate suddenly felt like it weighed a Ton! Filled with water or something, but now I see there's nothing in there. So I got Old overnight, or those struts got funny.

Thank you very much! The video gave me the confidence to attempt the job myself and I manage to completed the same task on my wife's CR-V. I am not technically inclined and found the job straight forward after watching the tutorial in full. It took me a little bit longer which is OK due to me being inexperienced and me trying to be careful not breaking any of the plastic panels and clips. I recommend using the correct tools as shown in the video. The tools were available at my local spares shop and were affordable. I also saved a lot on the labour which I would have paid should I have taken the vehicle to a shop. My wife is super impressed with my new skill!

I think this is what mine needs. It’s showing the liftgate is open but it’s closed so maybe it just went out

Just want to let everyone know, if any of the door locks don’t work, the rear hatch won’t work, just how it’s wired. One of my power door locks didn’t work, but I didn’t really care, cuz you could just manually unlock/lock. But the rear hatch didn’t work, and that was driving me nuts. So I bought a new actuator (around $80 CAD) and installed it, just to find out it didn’t fix it 🤦🏾‍♂️ After a bunch of research, I found the rear hatch will not activate until all four doors do. If your rear hatch stops working while a door actuator is failing, fix the door first. That might fix the hatch problem Also, thx for the video. Simple to follow along!

I had the same issue. I ordered and replaced the tailgate lock but did not fix my problem because my left rear door lock is not working.

Would you buy a 2014 CRV with 203,000 km on it? Ever had issues with the VCT actuator? Been seeing that on other channels.

Did this fix actually work?? I never saw you open the trunk at the end. And in a 2nd video with this same CRV, in the comments you state that the problem was the driver's front actuator.

The fix did not work; it was the driver front actuator but she never got it fixed because she know what the problem is and works around it.

Ok - anyone doing this running into issue that those 6mm Hex screws simply won’t come out? I have tried all my strength, PB blaster, and impact drill, they simply won’t budge. Not stripped yet Starting to think I will need to drill them out and find some kind of replacements. Super frustrating

@weldingandstuff. Did this actually work to fix the trunk latch? In a 2nd video with this same CRV you stated that it was the driver's front actuator that needed replacing. Does that front door actuator also control the trunk?
