Hi great post. Could you tell me what make/model the replacement unit is please? Also I am struggling to remove the fascia panel you made it look so easy. Screws are out but I can’t get it off. Any help would be much appreciated thanks

Did you manage to trim the fascia piece to fit mate? I'm installing a similar JVC unit to my CRV (exact same spec as yours) and the JVC fascia is way too big, not sure how to cut it down and not make a mess tbh but don't really wanna leave a gap around the headunit...

Hi mate, just wondering what you did to get around the fascia issue, I've just installed an alpine cde w235bt and the fascia is too big to fit inside the honda trim gap, not sure what to do? Thanks

Hi mate once again to say great video and the way you come across is just brilliant nice and natural no BS. So I bought a stereo replacement as my mate said he knows about the stereos and gave me the link so I went and bought it online. Problem is though it’s massive about 10.1 inch he’s quite a clever bloke so don’t worry I’ll print off a 3-D bracket which is what he’s done He reckons he can fit the radio but the next problem is all of the wiring would have to be wired individually but he said just to get an adapter. I went to Halfords and they said they don’t do an adapter. Mate said to me this would save so much wiring just to be able to plug in the adapter and plug it into the stereo. When I receive my stereo I literally just had the front part there was no cage and there was no black housing It’s quite difficult to explain I guess. I don’t suppose you would know how easy it is to get an adapter as this stereo I got was from China Hopefully this link works to show you what it is I got www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134178380839?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yekqx0garis&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=0uCcl6bRRhO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I just wish I could find an adapter to make it so much easier to plug in and also remove if I needed to Would you be able to point me in the right direction at all mate really appreciate your help if you can

First of all, thank you! For the nice comments And more videos coming up soon! Now the link you have given me, shows a picture with the wiring. It all looks separated and it does look like you will need to do make your own individual connections. Best thing to do is, try to find an adapter which will plug into the back of your new unit. but Given it’s a Chinese make, I’m not sure it’s available. This is one of the main reasons I went with a known brand to save my self this drama. If I get one in the near future, I’ll try to film it and explain how to do this. It will be easy to do the process if you can get a wiring diagram for the cars sounds electrics. The other option is to ask the seller of the new unit if there’s a adapter. Hope this helps!

Great video, did you ever find an adapter for the steering controls?

How did you get on without connecting a dab aerial?

Hi there, this is great. Did you use the original screws to attach the cage to the pioneer? I know this stereo is more orientated towards an iPhone bit will it be ok for Android phones? Cheers
@samistyle98552 жыл бұрын
Hi! So the original Honda cage was removed and the screws were then used to attach directly to the head unit. (No cage was used) There was 2 brackets (left and right) which I managed to get level onto the replacement head unit to fit. I found it easier to do it this way as I knew it will be more secure than using an after market cage. The original Honda cage was slightly too small so I didn’t use it. One thing to note is, be careful when screwing directly into head unit as the bolts may be too big and you may screw into the internals of the unit. I had enough clearance not to get this issue. For the iPhones this unit works great as it has apple car play so it is literally plug and play. With android you won’t get all the features but you will still be able to connect via Bluetooth to get audio playback etc. Hope this helps!

@@samistyle9855 excellent, that's great thanks! Did you sort out the steering controls in the end?
@samistyle98552 жыл бұрын
@@Deflepps still on the to do list unfortunately. Will do a video when I get round to it, but I believe I’ll need an additional wiring loom kit to get it working. 👍
