I'm glad I could help! Also...I did not:/ I do wish that I could but with the way that my rear door works/opens on my SUV it's a little bit more difficult than I believe I could do by myself. If you plan on getting this exact model stereo, there is a rear view camera video in and so if you would like to install a backup camera, you surely could :)

Carson Miller so you didn't need to purchase a aftermarket double din kit? you just used the supplied bracket to attach it to the factory stereo screw points?

Yup! I made a slight modification to the bracket that came with the stereo (I bent in the little sticking out points on the bracket) which I briefly mentioned in the video. I'm sure you could easily do this to your bracket if you have the same issue :). I used nothing else when mounting the stereo.

The call quality on the end of the stereo is okay but you'll probably have to turn up the volume of the stereo as while calling is rather quiet...from the phone calls that i've had no one has seemed to complain about call quality being bad or echo-ey so that's good:) Other than that though if you ever want to try and use Siri or the google assistant through the radio while connected to your phone, good luck lol it's so delayed when using one of the two it's unusable.

+박현 The stereo has 2 wires on the rear of this model where it is labeled "SWC" and with those wires, you'll have to buy a separate SWC adapter (they're typically priced around $65) in order for the controls to work...its an extra hassle to buy the adapter and so my controls just currently don't do anything unless I'd buy that adapter. If you do buy the adapter, setup is very easy with the built in SWC configuration setup on the stereo...hope this helps:)

If you have the empty connector with the rear (wire side) facing you and the connector lock/unlock tab upward, then I will list the wires starting from the top level (tab side up) from your left to right side: Left top row: Purple/black stripe, Purple, Grey/black stripe, Grey, White, White/black stripe, Green, Green/black stripe, Red tiny wire, Red/white stripe. *End of top row to the right side* Left bottom row: Blue/white stripe, Blue, Lime Green, Purple/white stripe, Yellow, Black, Red, Orange, White tiny wire, Red/black stripe. *End of lower row to the right side* I left out the wire designations because it's all there via top of the unit on the sticker and saves me extra typing. I just bought this stereo and wanted a preview hence finding this video and your question prior to installing it some weekend. Maybe you figured out the wire pinouts by now by searching pictures online, but just in case here it is.

I’ll consider that! As for right now though, it’s been great! It has so many more features than the stock stereos of many cars. One thing that does kinda stink though is that if you’re really planning on blaring music with this then it does start to distort the music at higher volumes but nothing really for me until you pass 2/3 volume or more. Bluetooth, radio, aux, cd/dvd player, and usb audio all work amazingly so really no complaints there. For the price, this stereo is astounding and I would highly recommend it to anyone! Hope you found this helpful...if you need any more help let me know!

I'm not sure if it is tin coated aluminum or regular aluminum but you only have to worry about aluminum and copper reacting if you just, say twist the wires together. Using a splice connector such as a butt connector like I used in this video keeps the aluminum from reacting with the copper:). Hope this helps!

Yes you can! However, you’ll need to purchase a separate steering wheel control (SWC) adapter in order to convert the signal from the steering wheel to a signal the radio can understand. I wish it was included, but each car is different which is why you’ll need to purchase a compatible SWC adapter for your vehicle separately. They typically run anywhere from $40-$80 depending one where you purchase one from. Hope this answers your question!

Also, I have not personally got one myself as I totally agree the price is pretty crazy for just adding a couple buttons back lol...I never really used the SWC before replacing my stereo so it wasn’t that difficult to transition into not being able to use them. I have considered getting a SWC adapter though but just haven’t yet got into purchasing one yet

Absolutely! I have a video coming out soon about one which I installed in my CRV that has CarPlay/Android Auto sometime in the future. Specifically, it’s the Pioneer AVH-1500NEX which fits perfectly you just need a dash kit to have the outer border work but other than that it’s been fantastic and the sound quality is phenomenal that it outputs!

Yup, I just recently installed a backup cam in the CRV as well. Just a heads up, doing so takes a decent amount of time longer than a typical car due to the side opening rear door, but it’s not impossible. Well, originally with this Boss Stereo, it’s due to the fact that there weren’t many if any compatible modules with the stereo and the CRV. However, with the Pioneer, it is compatible with the Maestro line of SWC’s - so I did in fact go and install that with the Pioneer Stereo and it’s been great having those controls! The Maestro is completely customizable through a computer program and then you just flash the information to the unit before installing through its USB port and that’s it!

Hey there Cade! I can't 100% guarantee that it will fit the '04 but it's probably very likely that it will😂...About being worth it, I absolutely think it is! I would say it's okay quality. I've definitely seen better, but for the price it's outstanding:). It is sometimes slow to respond when adjusting the volume (like when you want go turn it down really quick for a phone call or while ordering at a drive thru.) Also, the lowest volume at 1 on the stereo is definitely much louder than the stock stereo, but you get used to it after time! Overall, I would say it's pros definitely outweigh the cons so I will have to definitely say yes it's worth it for the price and I think you'd really enjoy it!

Carson Miller i think it would fit, looks like its the same setup as yours. Only difference is that i dont have a passenger airbag light, thats where my emergency flashers are.. have you had any problems?

From what I've read the 2002-2006 are second gen either slight changes from each year, but the body shape stays pretty much the same. I'm hoping to install this on my 2002 soon.

Absolutely! There is a steering wheel control in on the rear of the stereo that you can wire a SWC (steering wheel controller) into. Just make sure you purchase an SWC that is compatible with your vehicle though!

The loose wires are for if you have a back up camera and for if you are gonna use the DVD player opition the radio has to be wired in to your car .

You didn’t happen to pop a fuse for some reason, did you? Also, this is odd, but with this stereo I’ve had the issue of needing to stop all power going to it before by disconnecting the main battery in the vehicle. After it’s connected again, it usually will turn on.
