Is the pink on the new carburator the red on the factory plug?

Hey bud I have a questions, I have one of these generators… recently took apart the carb and cleaned it up really well to include the jet and the brass orifice…. Used some carb cleaner so it was super clean then I ran fresh diesel into the tank with some seafoam…. To make sure it cleans anything that I might have missed…. My issue is that when I get to around 1600 it stumbles on its face then slowly tries to ramp Back up….never got it high or it to show overload any clue why it might be doing that ?

1600 watts? If your initial issue was old gas/gummed up carburetor, you probably didn’t clean the carburetor good enough. Those are really good engines and they will tolerate a lot so it’s not surprising that it’s able to run. I’ll be doing a video on carburetor cleaning soon but if you cleaned all that’s visible (including the plastic pilot jet) then just do the following 1.remove carburetor 2. Remove bowl 3. Blow compressed air into the small brass hole on the choke side of carburetor (there are two holes, you want the one on the side with the pilot jet) 4. Alternate spraying brake cleaner (no carb cleaner) and compressed air a few times and it should be good to go

@@ThatGeneratorGuy quick question why the brake cleaner over the carb cleaner ???? Is there no coating on the fuel system we should worry about ???

@@dieseldawg7132, these carburetors have rubber parts and the carburetor cleaner will destroy them and make them gummy (float needle tip, bowl o-ring, and o-rings on the pilot jet). I use brake cleaner (the non-chlorinated) the whole way and never have to worry about ruining components. 👍🏻
