Excellent video. Than you!! I was given a barely used EU2200i partly because it “ran when parked” but prior owner couldn’t get it to run or even fire. Main jet was completely blocked. Runs great now!

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions! I have a 3 year old EU2200i that was brand new in the box, never used, and wouldnt start. Gas tank full with new gas, oil level good, air filters clean, spark plug correctly gapped. I followed your instructions and found that the main jet was completely clogged. After cleaning and reassembling, it started right up on the third pull. Thanks for saving me a couple hundred dollars! ps I noticed you forgot to reattach the fuel line and had to re-do the air filter housing ;p

Thanks for the video mate, I have an almost brand new generator that would run perfectly but would stall under any load. I have never done anything like this but was able to watch your video step by step…. I was so excited when it burst into life and ran perfectly once I did this, and it means I have now learned a new skill if I need to do again in the future. One additional thing I learned though was instead of the wire brush, a small set of oxy cleaning needles from the tool shop cleaned the little pin holes well as they are like tiny mini round files…. But overall thanks a million!

Great video. My EU 2000 is running very rough under eco-mode and running great at high RPMs so I’m guessing this is exactly what my problem is. I just don’t think I have the skill to do this. I’m tempted but I’d be nervous I couldn’t get it back together or I would break something.
@atvrepairsandmore2482
@atvrepairsandmore2482 Жыл бұрын
If you do not feel comfortable doing it, it should not cost to much to have it repaired. It is still most likely a carburetor issue. The passages in the carb are very small and clog easy.

The sound at 1:18 of the generator running and hesitating is almost exactly the same as 24:20. Good video for tearing down and cleaning the carb, but I am doubtful it fixed this particular problem. Maybe as you said new gas would solve the problem.

@atvrepairsandmore2482
@atvrepairsandmore2482 2 жыл бұрын
They sell those in line fuel shut off valves. I’d recommend one of those or they sell fuel shut off kits for the eu2000. The eu2200 has a built in fuel shut off.

There is a tiny rubber ring on the jet that you put in right before the idle screw ? Mine does anyway I couldn't see if yours did or not ,anyway it's making it difficult to push in the jet to the flush stage . Should I be concerned ?

Good video. I followed your instructions, took the carb apart and put it back together. BUT I could not get the liltte brass pipe with all the pinholes out of the carb. It's stuck! I could get the little screw top off. I tried carb cleaner and WD40 to loosen it up, but did not wait hours for it to work. Didn't have the time. I did spray a bunch of carb cleaner down the little pipe, drained it and let the whole thing dry before putting it back together. Then generator did not start. I am a retired accountant and don't work much with machines and motors, and so I ran out of ideas on how to get the little sucker out. Do you have any suggestions? T The generator is an EU20i (the European version, I live in Europe). I bought it in 2015, and it has very few running hours on it. A local mechanic got the gernerator to run, and it did for a short time. I don't know what he did, but he charged me 50 Euros for it, and I have a generator that does not work (again). I can send you a picture of the the piece stuck in the metal housing if you like. Thanks again for any help you can provide!
@atvrepairsandmore2482

I assume you took the main jet out first. If so, you should be able to get a small screw driver in through the large hole where the air flows through the carburetor. If you can, do that and push on the jet. If it’s still to tight, use some carburetor cleaner or brake cleaner to clean it off more and try again. They usually pop out easy so just make sure you took the main jet out of the bottom of the carb. If you get it out and are able to clean the tube and it still will not start, I’d check the fuel pump. It might take 10 pulls to get the fuel system primed to get fuel to the carburetor. If you have anymore questions let me know. I’ll try to answer them

@@timbookedtwo2375 I just dealt with this too. Mine was severely stuck in there from previous owner leaving old gas in it too long. I used a small Allen wrench (or find something similar L shaped) and stuck the smaller end through the large hole where the air flows through and had to use a screw driver to apply pressure to it to drive the tube out because it was corroded in there but it did finally come all the way out. This was after moving the tube as far in as I could with just a screwdriver as that wasn't enough for it to just fall out, it had to be pushed with the small end of the Allen wrench inserted in the hole to get it free.

I've had my Honda 2200 for 2 years and this past Saturday i started it on choke and as soon as I turned the choke off it died. Bare in mind I bought this new and had 0 issues since I bought it until today. So I drained the bowl took out the sparkplug and pulled it a few times to clear the chamber out it started for 2 seconds on choke then died. Did this about 6 times and a couple times with fresh premium gas and nothing changed. Every time I take the sparkplug out it's wet with gas. Idk what the deal is but it's definitely flooding the chamber. It's at the dealership now to see if it's covered by the warranty and if it's not I guess I'm going to have to clean the carb really good and see if that's the problem. Once again I had literally no issue until that day. Like literally 0 issues ever🤷🤷🤷

I have few questions, I want to buy Honda 2200 generator and I want to connect it to big 60 gallons fuel tank, Is there any fuel pump inside original fuel tank and between fuel tank and carburetor OR carburetor/engine vacuum suck in fuel from original fuel tank to carburetor? can I connect big fuel tank 60 gallons directly to carburetor with longer 2-3 feet fuel line? , I would like to bypass original fuel tank
@atvrepairsandmore2482
@atvrepairsandmore2482 2 жыл бұрын
There is a small vacuum fuel pump that is mounted on the outside of the tank I believe big you can get to it, you might be able to connect the line like you said. I have seen people run 5 gallon tanks to the top of the fuel cap. They sell the kits on eBay for it

@atvrepairsandmore2482

If the needle for the float is stuck or not sealing properly, then yes it could leak. It could also be a bad bowl gasket or the fuel line leaking but is most likely a stuck needle.
