Hi, I've been running a honda e2000 inverter/ jenny for 8 summers. I mostly camp above 9k and spend time above 10k (Leadville,CO.) , the Honda performs without a problem with stock jets. Thanks for your content.

I lead a volunteer backcountry trail crew where we work mostly above 8000’. We use 13A rock drills and 15A demolition hammers to split boulders for trail building. I can confirm that amp loss is real. Above 7000’ I can not run the 15A demolition hammer with a Honda 2200. The motor runs, but weakly and the demolition hammer just doesn’t have any power. Same with the rock drill. It’s a significant issue. Since we work miles from any road and have to carry everything miles from the nearest road, weight and portability is a huge issue as is ability to take the abuse of hauling it out.

Still probably outside my budget, esp with those genmax you've shown doing everything I would need and already being setup for dual fuel ... but I'm here to see what's up anyway. Thank you.

Just purchased the eu3200i last week, started on 2nd pull right out of the box (~4,500 ft el.). Regarding altitude and fuel injected vs carbureted, I have an old eu2000i companion (2012-ish) and while it can be difficult to start (and has a janky choke that requires constant attention), it has performed just fine at 8,000-9,000ft (Cloudcroft, NM). I did re-jet the eu2000i but did not notice any difference in starting or performance at high altitude.

Very informative video. I also live at low elevation but frequently Rv at higher elevations and want to do more Boondocking. Big Honda fan and have a pair of eu2000's (I wish I knew how many hours - alot) and a EU3000is that imo is probably the best RV generator ever made. I was very excited when the EFI 3200i was announced and was going to jump on one to replace my 3000 but after watching several reviews, run capacity, pull start and elevated noise I'm having reservations that it is not superior to the EU3000is with the exception of weight and bluetooth. I was so hoping one of your bonus generators was the 3000is so that leads to my question - Have you ran the 3000is in those same scenarios and what are your thoughts in comparison to those tested on this video. Thank again again for making the video

I have not used the eu3000is that high. Mainly low and honestly I never wanted to use it for my Rv, just to big and heavy to move back and forth. So compact units only. Great gen just to big for the Rv stuff. Super quiet though!

While it's a nice generator i struggle with the price of the eu3200 vs twin eu2200s. Especially when you get 1k more running watts and 1200 more starting. Great video thank you.

@johnnysweekends agreed 💯. Lots of quality generators out there, dual fuel even for a more competitive price. I feel like honda didn't price that eu3200 very well. Maybe at $1600 or $1800 it'd be a better buy.

About to take my twin Yamaha ef2000is to 8,500 ft. I am taking them in my tent trailer primary to charge my Rivian while in the backcountry. Anxious to see how they do stocks jets. If it sucks, I will be planning on an EFI and/or propane generator…

Well two generators are better than a single but even at 8500ft you loose a decent amount of power, carb or EFI

I have done a lot of testing and people are reporting back that they are doing well. But i could show you bad reviews on any brand..🤷🏼♂️

I think at this price a battery operated LifePO4 generator would be better. No maintenance, and with solar panels, you'll have free "fuel" so to speak. A Pecron E1500LFP (which isn't fully out yet) produces 2200 Watts and has 1500Wh battery capacity. Or a refurbshed EcoFlow Delta Pro produces 3600 Watts and can be had refurbished from their eBay store for ~$1800. Both units have a 30 Amp outlet and the EcoFlow is compatible with more solar panels than the Pecron and can produce 240V with their hub (and another Delta Pro). If 240 is needed it's more cost upfront but it's susceptible to the altitude either.

I know this isn't the topic of the video, but can I ask what type of 5th wheel do you have? And have you had any problems with it? Because it seems new and I know new RVs from *all* manufacturers have had serious quality control issues.

It’s a 2021 Jayco 29.5bhds… And honestly it’s been pretty flawless. My only issues is one slide was going in a little sideways but that was because my battery got really low when I was playing with stuff so it got out of sync. Full battery did the open and close and sync and boom good to go. Water holding tank seemed to me like it was hanging a little low so I double strapped it. Not taking any chances on it dropping out since I boon dock/ dry camp and will often fill up close to final location. So it can be heavy and bounce around on an off road section. So wanted more security. Other than that no issues and been again pretty flawless and my best trailer so far. My 2020 grand design was also a good trailer but had it a year because it didn’t fit the lifestyle. My 2018 I had for a couple years, no issues but the cable slides get a little jumpy but that’s kinda normal. My 2012 Tahoe toy hauler…. Such a good trailer, no issues with that and did everything I needed at the time. I have been around them and know what to look for so it helps but doesn’t fully prevent you from getting a bad one. But yea there are good ones and bad ones no matter what ya buy. And most times you only hear about the bad ones.

The only reason to buy the 3200 is if you have two A/C units or other big draws. My 2200 works just fine at 1/3 the price.

If you get a good 2200 they are tough units. Just wish they built is as dual fuel option and maybe 2000 watt running. But pretty good unit

@@johnnysweekends Fortunately after 3 years of limited use camping with my EU 2200i, not a single problem. The propane conversion kits seem very easy to install if I wanted to. I tow with a gas truck that has a 44 gal. tank and don’t see the need.

i have driven my car to 19k fet and it felt like i was driving on 1cylinder . it was smoking like a remapped tdi. forget the car , even i was not functioning properly at that altitude while my sherpa had no effect. i had to stay at 14k feet for a week to adapt to the altitude before going up higher.

The tachometer is measuring incorrectly. The engine selected from the device as 2-stroke should be corrected as a 4-stroke engine.

The tach is accurate as it’s set for 4 stroke and showing showing correct rpm. A 2 stroke would turn much higher rpm in general. Hondas new generator turns a higher rpm of 4850 now verses 3600 of the old. The tach is correct
