I do exactly this but rather than a toothbrush try using two nail brushes sandwiched between the chain. They're 20p from Asda and work a treat!

Going commando next week then ???? I agree on the paraffin 👍......then use gear oil on a brush to lube it !

As I understand it from Wikipedia, kerosene is a crude parafin derived from mineral oil. Is kerosene OK to use to clean chains? Is it gentle on the O-rings and front sprocket shaft seals?

Hi John, it’s just laid on and held down at the back with a bungee and at the front by the kriega tank back converter. We run them on all the bikes, makes it real comfy and keeps the draught off!

I have always been a great fan of the use of paraffin. It is recommended by the likes of DID. So why waste hard earned on expensive inferior but brand named products???? 😎

Exactly, should put some in fancy bottles and charge as much as the big co’s do!
