I freaking LOVE my Honda 217. The nicest machine of any kind I have ever owned. Makes mowing the lawn a real pleasure. My old mower made it a chore. I'd recommend Honda mowers to anyone.

I love my new HRX with the new 200 cc engine. Huge power! But 2-3 pulls to start?? When warm, it is 1 pull.

Same here I got the one where they redid the engine. GCV200 best engine for a mower, powerful and reliable, loves Non Ethanol fuel and Amsoil small engine oil.

@@algorel4763 more cc more volume to fill the cylinder, normal, now if cold yes more pulls but normal. Watch Taryl Fixes All fuel additive experiment and subscribe to his channel. Lots of information press the bell for all notifications.

You are right about moving the setting on the rear tires...tough..the power on this is ridiculous- I ended starting to the lowest setting and tuned little by little until I didnt feel like it was a Mastiff pulling me down the street..

I got a 40 year old Briggs and Stratton that still starts on the first pull. No plastic on it either, LOL.

I have been using and older model of this mower for the past 2 years on weekends and it had been used by my brother for at least another year commercially daily and it works great and starts at the first pull ,but once you turn it off ,to move it to another area, the auto choke sticks and it requires little tricks to get it to run , but still works great. I found one on sale just this weekend at HD for 450 dls which is 160 cheaper than regular price so I couldn't let it pass and just have it in the box in the garage now...when the other one dies, I'll have a brand new replacement just waiting that will last for a long time 👍 cant go wrong with this model .

jlbueno0611 not sure if you’ve done it. But always a good idea to actually open it and make sure there are no issues with it. Would hate to have it waiting for you and have a dud.

I've seen a bunch of these unboxing videos now and I'm just wondering if I'm the only one that just cuts the end of the box and just rolls the mower right out instead of lifting the whole thing up??

Mine has always taken at least two pulls to start. I've had it for a year now.

I just used this mower for the first time. Good so far I think. I mowed my entire front lawn (in full Bag mode) and I barely have a 1/5 bag of grass. My old mower would have had at least a bag and a half (though that bag was def smaller). Possibly because of the mulching blade - even though I was in full Bag mode?)

There is a lever that allows you to partially bag and partially mulch. I suspect you had it midway? It's designed for those times when perhaps the grass is too long for full mulch. You may have discovered this already, assuming I'm correct. Cheers!

Only 25 seconds in but I have seen a lot of complaints about them not restarting when hot. Maybe the auto-choke is the issue. Edit: How do you know the choke system is good? You have a test?

Choke system was perfectly fine on the # 1. It was timing issue. Bad Coil. #2 works perfect no issues at all.

Super mower. It cuts the grass even if high, mulches down nice without clumping over the lawn.

this honda mower model is very bad i have try 3 mower this model is the handle is vibrating very bad after you holding the handle for 5 minute my hand is all numb.

@@AntLive29 Could be the blade is not balance...a few youtube videos on mowers complained blade being dull. How is a new blade dull...did the machinist forget the final grind or sharpening. Let a service center take a look.

What’s the best gas to use?

The owners manual states 86 octane or higher, and no more than 10% ethanol. However, ethanol-free gas is always preferred for these small engines.
