I've actually been looking forward to the shake-down and revision process, as it's the part you often never see on youtube builders projects - "Yay, it's been to SEMA. Now we forget about it." So, seeing it being tested and finding any issues and sorting them, especially when you start getting it on track, is just as exciting to me in many ways as the build itself!

Hey Mike. I've watched a lot of builds on The 'Tube over the years, but this one has been a real standout from the beginning. Excellent content on both an engineering and an entertainment level. And as a (former) videographer, I really appreciate the attention to production quality. Keep going! Many Thanks!

The elephant in the room is that this car makes most of the other “builders” on KZfaq look like posers. The excellent esthetics aside, the suspension design and fabrication, the “dark arts” is truly impressive. So many factors to go potentially wrong, but you obviously recognize the inherent challenges. No small thing for someone who modestly does not bill himself as a chassis engineer. No doubt there will be teething, maybe even a big revision, but obviously you will get there. I thought at the start of the build,”too bad he couldn’t start with an early fiberglass car, thus saving 300lbs at the get-go.” But seeing the car now, when you go to the carbon fiber doors and engine cover, you will be in the same ballpark as if you had stated with a glass car. Just such an impressive build, congratulations.

I'm continually in awe of the incredible videography, design, and fabrication you do. Even as a one man team, your channel still manages to have a higher production quality without sacrificing attention to detail. I can't wait to see your progression from fabricator to driver and all the hurdles in between.

I can tell you, as someone who owns 3 mostly stock manual rack sports cars, that the steering effort you're showing is fantastic. It will depend a lot on the road surface finish, but it takes a lot more effort to turn any of my cars with much thinner tires. Very nicely done.

As a former industrial designer with aspirations of automotive design in my youth, I have to say the final results are above and beyond most builds I have observed on YT or TV. It's a masterpiece! I'm only guessing, but hoping that the 1st dyno pulls will only be for tuning purposes and that some run-in time will be given to the fresh motor. I'm old fashioned about this, so may not be up to speed on modern engine building limits and procedures.

If you’re already at 2377 with the steel engine cover, steel doors, steel uprights, and steel control arms, sub-2250 with carbon and billet aluminum replacements in the future should be easily attainable. Plus, if you really want to chase pounds once you start competing, I’m sure you could find some carbon wheels that would fit your criteria. 😂 Congrats on getting the car to this point in only two years!

Nice job on the weight! You're right around what my aluminum monocot framed, LS engine based, SL-C weighs (with Lexan windscreen). Several have already made this comment but...2377#s is a game changer. To put that into perspective the build is approaching the magic one:one threshold of 1bhp per kilogram. Koenigsegg made a one:one which I believe they made only one of. So a quantum leap for StanceWorks. Yup it may be possible to get to 2200#s curb weight. CF doors, carbon ceramic rotors, CF wheels, CF rear hatch...Or just turn up the boost a few PSI and use methanol as Koenigsegg does. For a humble builder as yourself this is an achievement. Looking forward to dyno, suspension tuning, and track day.

You may want to reconsider that loop in the drain vent. If it ever gets oil up that far, it will turn into an air trap, just like household plumbing. During normal operation air will not be able to pass back and forth, which is the whole reason to have it.

There’s a pump on the inside sucking oil out of the system. If the level ever rose that high and air trapped it, the pump powering on would suck it back in.
