Thinking of picking of of these up myself. It looks fun and I trust Honda to make a quality product. I didn’t realize they were so repair-friendly distributing parts at dealerships, Honda W

This is a great review. This has been my exact experience with my own Motocompacto. Totally on point about the positives of the Honda nameplate and portability.

Bro I love this review! I’m picking one up since I own a white prelude 2000! 😊

If Honda can figure out a way to add a small suspension system or dampen the ride somehow by adding a shock absorber (even to just the seat would suffice), then I'm sold.
@triptheroadАй бұрын
It would probably actually be easy to make a suspension seat post, maybe I'll make it a video project!

I absolutely LOVE this thing, if only they'd release it in the EU

I feel like they might, biggest problem here in the US is people can't get them fast enough, so it's hard to gauge how much people like them. Demand is still overwhelming Honda though so that is a good sign!

It would also me nice to add small wheels to one side and make it a rolling suitcase

You mentioned DC metro. Me and some homies are doing a motocompacto race around the 7.2 mile scenic drive loop of Prince William Forest Park. We're calling it the türdburgring. If you want in I can send you the details.

I'd absolutely be interested! Feel free to send me an email using the contact info on the "more about this channel" menu. I am in DC for work all the time so I could either throw it in my Suburban that day or take Metro.

One of the best reviews on KZfaq, especially showing the rough ride. The only mistake I could find in the video was your comment about the odometer in the app. The odometer in the app is extremely accurate. It reads in 10ths, so when it shows you went 708 miles, you had actually gone 70.8 miles. Either ride your car two miles out and two miles back, or use GPS, and then repeat the ride with the Motocompacto, and you will see that the Motocompacto odometer measures the mileage exactly. Please do the test before replying to let me know if you agree, or correct me if I am wrong. I have four of them, so agree that it is a shame that the ride is so rough. 6 miles out of the box is unexplainable. I wonder what your Motocompacto was doing before you bought it. 70 miles is a lot of Motocompacto riding, so you must be pretty sore.. LOL

I'll give that a try this week! The fact that it was wrong out of the box leads me to believe there is still something wrong with how it is tracked, but hopefully it is something as simple as a decimal conversion issue.

@@triptheroad I hear you, but it wasn't wrong out of the box. Please provide an update after you complete your odometer testing.. thanks.

I got one, and the cons are no joke. It's pretty much unusable and just a novelty. I don't look forward to riding it and after I do, I regret the suffering.

I can understand it being a let down to some, it could certainly be a lot more comfortable and a little quicker!

it's only sold through Honda car dealerships, not the motorcycles dealers

I'm considering buying one of these to bring to large car show events that my family and I attend throughout the summer. Some shows are so big you can rent 4-wheel scooters at the event, but I'm thinking maybe I buy one of these to stick in the truck of our classic car. My main concern is how long the battery will last throughout the day. In the past when we have rented scooters at the events you may do 2-3 large laps around the events and everyone takes turns using it. Any insight on how long the battery lasts before needing to recharge? And is it possible to recharge one of these with a power bank?
@triptheroad3 ай бұрын
I'm planning to take it to Carlisle this year. I've found battery life to depend primarily on distance driven, it doesn't use much power while stationary. I would think you could easily get at least three large laps in at a show like Carlisle on a single charge.

Love the decal, where did you get it?

I had it custom made by a local sign shop in Williamsburg, VA area. I can find his info if you're looking for decals!

I think a speing ride seat could go a long way on this
@triptheroad3 ай бұрын
there is a guy making bicycle style seats for these. I've gotten used to the smaller seat for shorter trips but for 30 minutes or more a bigger seat would help a lot
