My accord was that long. Set the rev limiter to 8k and I could get close to 90 in 2nd. It was insane

I once drove home from the grocery store (about 10km) in 2nd gear in an 06 CRV at about 90km/h. I couldn’t hear the revving because I had the audio so loud. Thank God for Royal Purple, engine didn’t blow. 😄

It was a 5-speed (those days normal), geared to a 270 top speed.

Only for early base models with 3.0 engine. Type R got closer ratio and also later cars with with 3.2 engine got 6 speed.

Not if you have $100k or more to spend which would be the price of it was today, this wasn't an ordinary car or engine in any way but the Pinnacle of what Honda could do back then, it was asked at Ferrari fans. Some older Porsche cars come close to this RPM, Subaru BRZ/Toyota AE86 or the E92 M3 can rev up there too.

But yeah a V6 today usually gets a turbo or two so no such need for high RPMs anymore...last good N/A V6 was the 3.7l in the 370Zs, it could rev up there too.

I know this is probably more of an apples to oranges kinda thing than anything, but it it’s anything similar to my Tundra, the oil pressure gauge and the way it’s displayed is very odd. I.e. no oil pressure at idle, odd, which is in fact normal on those trucks for it to be displayed like that. No issues out of it. It could possibly be a Japanese oil sensor thing, or in this case, or maybe just something weird that sends the reading into an “oh shit” reading, idk. I know it doesn’t necessarily answer the question, but after reading about it on my truck, I’d be leaning more towards Japanese oil pressure sensors, or the way the display, are just finicky like that

Likely the result of cavitation. The oil is designed to not foam, but at high rpms it can be overloaded with cavitation from being over filled with oil. Some cars stock level too much if you push it hard. From watching the gauge it seems to confirm this.

Supercharged one did it in 3.5-4 seconds, which is pretty quick.

A high flow exhaust would probably help but I'm not exactly sure what you mean how it sounds

The Honda C series V6 is a pretty run of the mill 90 degree V6 in terms of design. Most of that sound comes down to it being in such an aggressive state of tune, especially when utilising VTEC. They also have a variable length intake runner which usually changes the sound from the intake, it's what makes even 4 cylinders sound pretty good such as the Alfa Romeo TwinSpark engine. Being mounted where it is I should imagine the exhaust header/manifold design would be very well designed and free flowing. Lot's of reasons it won't sound like an average V6

Honda spend great efforts specifically tuning the sound of their exhausts. I had the first of their CBX motorcycles in 1979 and it had a spinner in the muffler to create the turbine whine of an F-4 Phantom jet, which was the inspiration for it's design. Then they gave me the hand built prototype of the NSX which was in North America for advertising photography, so I could use it in a TV show. I had it for two amazing weeks which I definitely made the most of!

@@itsjamilagain I agree it is turbo not supercharged. The beginning of the video is stock car. I have this car, mine is stock also, so the first pulls are stock. But the second pulls with the other camera angle is with turbo.
