Good honest video review. I am looking for one for next year for my 12km commute to work basically because of the rising gas prices.

I've got a Deauville (that's now naked up front) one of - if not the best bike I've ever owned! It just makes such a great all weather all rounder, wether you want a comfortable bumble or a quick whip round the lanes, it's an easy forgiving bike for beginners and just as fun for experienced riders when you find the bend you "shouldn't" be able to take that quick or low on such a heavy bike - granted its only about 50hp but that V twin channels all its torque and hp at the bottom to mid of the rev range so between 0-80mph will give pretty good chase to most mid class sports bikes as they don't really start to produce there insane power until about 80mph or the higher ends of the rev range - by which point your either absolutely breaking the law or running out of road. The engine is that well balanced in the frame you tend not to notice being airbourne from hump back bridges until after you touch down and being shaft driven the rear end is also pretty predictable in the event you break the traction as it tends to always try and kick to the left. Stops pretty quickly too. That all said though, because of the bikes I like, most of my 15 years of riding experience is on late 80's early 90's front heavy, bad braking wobbly framed sports touring bikes.

@@SuperRoverboy funny you should mention that. I got a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer almost two months ago. Thought it'd be the bike for me but I couldn't be more wrong. So my buddy got a 1985 Honda Nighthawk, and of course I wanted to ride it so I did. Now I want one of those so the Yamaha is going. Guess I'm just more of a Oldskool guy...😎🏍️👍🏻

Hi Bas 77 and thanks for the review. I've been thinking about getting one of these instead of a 4 cylinder bike like the bandit or the Fazer. When you talk about the cramped riding position, do you mean the low seat forces your knees to bend too much? I'm 178 cm with legs that are average or slightly below average length. i want a bike that's comfortable at legal speeds with good mid-range power. Would an NTV fit the bill?
@SumPixelz3 жыл бұрын
He there, thanks for watching my video! With your length you would just be in the zone where you might be or not might be comfortable on this bike. I'd say if you have the chance to try it out do it, because for the rest it's a fantastic bike. I have to say though, I've been riding my Fazer for 3 weeks now and that was quite the upgrade! I'm gonna post a video about that soon. Hope my answer helped you!👍🏻
@Ijusthopeitsquick3 жыл бұрын
@@SumPixelz Yes, the Fazer is a well liked bike with lots more power, while the NTV has the advantage of a shaft drive and a much lower price. Comfort is a priority for me, though; if you're not comfortable, you're not enjoying yourself!
@SumPixelz3 жыл бұрын
@@Ijusthopeitsquick very true! If budget is not really a thing for you then I'd look beyond this NTV. I'd go for a Fazer.

I've owned a NTV 650 for 15 years. I'm 176cm and I find the riding position acceptable although a little bit too sportive, specially knee wise. A change of foot peg holders for the Deauville model, 2 or 3 cm lower, is to consider. On the other hand, the Revere does everything you ask of it and, even when you ask to go faster around the twists and bends. Sensible, reliable and economical ride that can show some fangs. Courier stuff.

@@SumPixelz I , at a length of 1.80 and average build, have ridden many bigger bikes. However, with the standard handlebars (tube, not cast) I have found the NTV to provide an excellent seating position at any legal speed, and beyond that. Nice balance between arched back and lift. Mind, expectations or experience might vary. as they are personal. For me, the NTV is the epitome of an allrounder including comfort.

@bierba Жыл бұрын

Your bike is a 600. The NTV grew to 650cc in 1993 when Honda dropped the 'Revere' tag. The 650 has conventional chrome handlebars, whereas your earlier 600 has clip-ons. Hope that helps.

Yeah, mine is a 650 from 1990. Through they don't exist according to the manual. It doesn't match to frame numbers. Frame numbers says it is a 600, registration says 650. Cannot remember off hand what the engine number indicated. Guess things were a little mix and match depending on sales regions?

Only the 600cc had the bolt on handle bars and silver mirrors I believe. The grey was the iconic styling model of the range. Classic piece of motorcycling
