Thank you for posting this. I followed your directions for my pilot and it looks great!! As a side note there should be a lawsuit against Honda for the material they used. When I removed the old one the material felt like a popped balloon.

Bought my kit from Ed and did it just like he shows. Turned out good. I used a Harbour freight stapler#68029 ($24.99) and Harbour freight 1/4" staples#61822 ($1.99). Factory Honda staples are 3/8" crown and 5/32" long. My staples were longer than Honda but they worked just fine. Just push the stapler down hard to sink the staples tight. Also, Ed ain't kidding about not needing to much heat, I got one spot too hot and the vinyl finish started to melt just a little.

I did this with a heavy duty hand stapler (Arrow T50). Took a bit more time and effort but it turned out GREAT! Used 1/4" staples. I'm very happy with the finished product. Thanks for the advice.

When I took the old material off everything under was deteriorating so when I tried to staple they went all the way through just slightly into the material so I stopped, looking for shorter staples? I used 1/4" or 6mm but I assume there was some padding under the material that was now dust! Love the video tip of using heat.

Awesome video . The trick is using the hair dryer. Let's you stretch all the loose material for a smooth surface.

Great video, thank you for sharing. I am wondering how you got the leather/vinyl to stretch out on the surface of the console and not have wrinkles or anything. I saw another video by a rookie, not a pro like you, and he did not use a heat gun and the finished product had some wrinkles.

My stapler wouldn’t go through the plastic without bending the staples so I used a hot glue gun and it worked great. Thanks for the video!
