My first Gen long travel arms have been great and I've put a lot of miles on them with no major issues. Joe is not on to making his third generation long travels arms so its about time Mighty Mouse gets and upgrade to these much improved arms!
It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride. SO KEEP ON RIDING!

FYI! Joe includes the washers you need for the lower a arms with the kit. He sends them with components I already had with my 1st gen kit so it was overlooked…lol.

I really want a set, but I will need to figure out a way to mount my Camso tracks since obviously the A-arm brackets won't fit on the long travel A-arms.

Refresh my memory on the wheels and offset to get the more “tucked” look. I was think WE 15”, but can’t remember exact model

You are correct! They are 15” Walker Evans Beadlocks and I do believe they are a 5-2 offset. May have to check on their website to confirm that.

Jason, I just received my kit from joe. I put the rear together first. I really struggled getting the rear hubs square. About the best angle I could achieve was 88 1/2 degrees with my digital angle finder. Anything more and I couldn’t get the bolts through the heim joints and frame mount tabs. I also used a torpedo level and set that across the wheel studs to ensure the lower control arm was at least square with the frame, measuring from a flat on the frame to the level. Does that sound like it was done correctly? I’ve watched all your videos on Mighty Mouse and don’t see you mention anything about the rear end. Thanks for your input and time.

Where I can find that suspension walker Evans shocks? I just bought a 2019 Honda Pioneer 500 white glass windshield honda roof 208 miles in absolutely perfect condition zero scratches. I want to update the tires to 26”s or maybe 27”s hopefully 27”s could be okay without problems. I want a nicer suspension for sure

It’s not an issue with the new Gen 3 arms. With the old Gen one like I had you just have to run heavier springs to compensate

Whats the biggest tire that a stock p520 will handle in the mud? They are geared quite low so i figured a 28 inch zilla might work since they are so light...
@AppalachianMountainRiders
@AppalachianMountainRiders Жыл бұрын
You’ll be fine with 28’s. I’m running my 32’s with only a clutch spring upgrade for higher rpm engagement and stock gearing. Haven’t burned out my clutch yet but I don’t do thick mud very often…lol. My tire and rim set up with the 32’s is around 60lbs a tire and you should be quite a bit lighter then that. I can’t remember what my 28” set up weights but it’s quite a bit lighter.

Hey I went with your recommendation on the Walker Evans sharks they took awhile to get because of the COVID virus crap that was going on. But the weight was well worth it. I'm reaching out to you to be able to get information on Joe Kalinsky long arm travel kit I'm having a hard time finding his information if you could send me his link or website that would be fantastic. Thank you David from Alaska

Whats the total width with the long travel kit and what size tires? Also are you running an internal gear reduction?
@AppalachianMountainRiders
@AppalachianMountainRiders Жыл бұрын
I’m at 59” wide. The tires in the video are 28” carnivore’s but I also run 32” Blackwaters depending on the kind of riding I’m doing. Been running the 32’s since the 1st Gen kit so they get used the most. No gear reduction.

Jason, what are your thoughts on running 30-10-14 maxxis carnivores with a long travel kit? Are these too wide or should I run a 9 wide instead? Thanks for your input.
@AppalachianMountainRiders
@AppalachianMountainRiders 10 ай бұрын
I ran 32x10’s almost exclusive on Mighty Mouse. 30x10’s will be fine and are what I put on Mighty Mouse right before selling it. They were even carnivores too so you’ll be fine!

Gen 3 looks good and works great. The only thing is it's now close to 60 inches. Why is it better to go this route vs buying a bigger 60 in machine that already has wider stance and better shocks? I'm very serious, just trying to understand and would like to hear the reasoning. Thanks
@Devin_Stromgren
@Devin_Stromgren Жыл бұрын
I'd say it really boils down to the fun of customizing the machine yourself. A lot of people just prefer that over buying a bigger machine.

It all depends on perspective. I think the P5 is a great platform to build and doing a build of a cheaper machine means you don’t have to spend as much money all at once like you would with say a 60” machine like a maverick sport. Now some will say it’s better to just buy a machine with everything I’ve done to Mighty Mouse from the factory and it may be. But, to me building it is more fun then buying it…lol. Plus it makes it your own and unique from any other machine of its kind out there. I mean, who else has a long traveled turbo’d Pioneer 500 beside me😂😂😂
@josephzanghi3036
@josephzanghi3036 Жыл бұрын
@@AppalachianMountainRiders thanks for responding I had a Pioneer 500 and now own a Pioneer 520. I sometimes think of buying a larger machine but I just can't let the 520 go. It is so darn good in the woods. It really can go where larger machines can not. The downside is I can not run with the larger machines on dirt roads. That's ok, 99 per cent of my riding is trail riding in the woods or used as a hunting vehicle where sometimes I go where there are no trails or logging roads.
