Found some nice trails covered in ice up a mountain in Vernon NJ. Tested out the Honda VTM system and was very impressed. I also found an awesome muddy lot and tried to get stuck - unsuccessfully.

My Ridgeline is just like yours, black, 2014 and I Love it! I don’t have Coopers on now but my next set will be. I’ve bought Cooper tires for years and have always been very pleased with performance and wear. Thanks for a great vid! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania

These are great vehicles , but honestly a front wheel drive vehicle could do everything you did there . I'm buying one of these next week and I will do a proper test .

Thanks for posting. It is great vehicle. Remember, the VTM-4 LOCK button only engages when you are in 2nd or 1st. In D, you are working with that basic system of variable torque that you describe--which is good--but the LOCK only engages when you are in 2nd or 1st and only when you stay under 18mph. Just to add that info...

@@EveryotherKarl And, I should add the LOCK feature also works in reverse. There is a great pdf available on the Ridgeline Forum that explains it amazingly clearly--very helpful forum.

@@crv20051 I think I've read that exact PDF lol, I love the forum. If I do another video talking about the ridgeline, I'll definitely mention this, thanks for bringing it up.

I think I was reading somewhere because of the VTM system the RIdgeline has to be on a tow bed and not towed traditionally.
@EveryotherKarl3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's true - apparently it's very bad for the transmission is you tow it on anything other than a flat bed.

Am thinking of buying one in Nigeria we don't have the best roads over here and I believe that it will be more than capable to handle the roads here in Africa.

Been thinking the same thing. I hate how the interior looks, but I love how the car handles and would like to buy a 2009 or 2012 Ridgeline.

@@johnmerlin1188 I didn't like the interior at first, but it grew on me - now I like it a lot.

The riggy (Ridgeline) is powerful and nice-looking. I live in New England and there is a lot of snow in the winter and snow is no match for the riggy.

If need to pull on the front where do you hook? Is it possible to hook on factory tow or tie down loops? Or is there a possibility to install a recovery hook on a solid point on frame? Looks like angle of strap would damage lower plastic valance piece
@EveryotherKarl Жыл бұрын
I've used the front factory recovery hook to pull a stranded lawn tractor before - never treated it beyond that. It worked well in that situation, but the recovery strap I was using stayed fairly low/level to the ground. It definitely could have damaged the plastic if it angled up. I'm not really sure if there is a decent aftermarket replacement.

Curious, what is the name of the setup you have for the ski rack above your trunk? I currently have a Ridgeline sport without a roof rack and considering options to mount snowboards for the winter season, thank you in advance!

Hey, I actually built that myself. I have a video on the build: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j9qjh7CnmqvMhHk.html

You seem to like your 2008 Honda Ridgeline as much as I like my 2006 RT. Not my daily driver anymore but it has served me so well since I bought it new. Just about to turn 94000 miles. What is the mileage on your Ridgeline?

I have gotten my ridgeline stuck. Mud looked fine but as soon as I got off the trail to turn around. The whole vehicle just sunk. All wheels were free spinning. It sucked. Had a friend try to get out out and he didn't even make it to me. Tow cost me 900. Mud was so soft I would sink down to my knee. Good experience though 🤣
