@@z32luvr not skyrocketing. They are skyrocketing for mint condition examples because they are hard to find. The average model usually doesn’t go for over 30k. It’s a good price for a reliable sports car (if you can deal with rock chips)

You'd be surprised, many Honda OEM parts are cheaper than aftermarket parts. Like the brake master and slave cylinders are dirt cheap OEM from Honda compared to aftermarket ones.

I personally felt like a lot of the pieces could've been reused and cleaned up. Like the airbox. Sweet restoration regardless though.

Yep, this apex blue CR was about $30k and After all the work done now it’s well above $60k

I know the cost is probably really high, but I respect the dedication and attention to detail to this restoration. That car is most likely not going to be driven heavily, but appreciated for its timeless appearance.

s2000's also have a really really high price in Hong Kong. If this was sourced in HK and not imported from Japan or elsewhere, the initial car cost would have been huge.

Honda genuine parts are not that expensive and yen is lower these years, just remember this car was 450k+ hkd brand new

Even though it's his money and can do whatever, but seriously spending almost 3x the amount of cash to restore a decent condition s2000k that cost a fait amount of money to begin with? Might as well get a another sports car (C6 Corvette personally) that cost the same amount, arguably better.

@@haaxxx9 3x the amount of an s2000? Yeah, you're stupid lol its not just an s2000 as well its a Type S (CR) ive seen low mileage CRs in my area sell for over $50k with the same amount of miles as this one. These things not only hold their value but they're honestly going up in value as well.

That pile of Honda boxes reminded me of years of accumulating parts to restore my CRX, before I even bought the car. Mine was stripped of everything down to the bare chassis and took me almost 3 years to put back together with all new bits.

These are my favorite resto videos. I love the way they are paced. I love how the focus is on iconic stock vehicles that are better left untarnished by mods. I wish there were more of these

This is by far the cleanest and best looking Honda S2000 I've ever seen, can only imagine the cost to restore and extensive labor required. Although, given how rare these Honda S2000 Type S/ CR models are they could end up being worth $100k or more especially in this mint condition, not that crazy for the owner to have it in pristine collector quality.

That is one SWEEEEEET ride! I wish I had bought one of those brand new back when they came out. I had the chance to get a brand new one exactly like this one at sticker price and passed on it. OUCH.

Loved this restoration. A lot of people would've opted to rice it out with aftermarket modifications/parts they consider "upgrades" that in reality are worse than OE parts for 99% of street driving situations.

Total makeover of a soon to be considered to be classic. The effort put in and the OEM parts had to exceed the 35k new price of an AP2. Mine is an 08 in Laguna Blue. Smile every time I’m driving 😃
