Hi Paul & Kathy. We got a little touch of old man winter on Friday, about 10 cm worth. I like those lights on the snowblower. May have to do that with mine. You must like not having to get up to blow snow commercially anymore early in the morning eh! Regards to you both. keep up the fine work.

Brian Campbell Hi Brian. No winter here. There's no heat wave either but it's still very much like fall and not winter. Ya I quit commercial snow clearing last winter. Initially I was only going to take one winter off from it but got to enjoy not having to be on the prowl all night in the tractor so I said no more for me. to many guys at it as well and the profit margin wasn't there like it was in the past. We own what we have so I wasn't forced to stay at it. If you get those lights and need them milled out just send me the clamps and I'll get them done for you. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend.

Thanks Paul, little surprised to hear you were not moving snow commercially this winter but maybe you'll have a little more time for fun things and videos. I'm betting there will be a Keurig on that snow blower by the week after Christmas.

@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
liveinmyamerica Actually last winter I didn't move snow commercially. It marked the first time in 23 years that I didn't do it. I was only supposed to take that winter off from the snow clearing but realized there was much more to life than chasing snow flakes so I decided to not do it anymore but I have plenty of room here to play in the snow and produce video's of the task. It also frees me up to some of the other stuff I enjoy doing which I've never shown yet ;) Hey you never know. There could be a Keurig on that init before long lol.

Good morning Paul! I will tell you that beautiful snowblower is going to be so fancy to use!!!! I hope you finally get some use out of it. My question is. I purchased honda HS724TC. I would like to get the auger housing extension which you have on your sexy machine. Back home here at the Power House Dealer in Barrie Ontario have no idea what I am talking about. Paul I know your busy but would you have a part number for the Auger housing extension. I know in asking a lot but if you can't help me then I can't start blinging out my beauty. I hope you know that everything you have done is special and most of all tasteful with nothing but safety in mind. With all the snow we get the extension is a must. Please help. Your the best. Please say hi to your wife for me and thank you for all your help! Travis
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
Travis Nesbitt . I think I jinxed this winter by buying it. Not enough snow to use it lol. That extension won't fit your HS724TC. Ours is the wider 928. We called the dealer this morning to check on one to fit yours but the guy we deal with was out for the day so Kathy will personally check for you first thing Monday morning and we'll post it here for you if there's one available. We WILL check so don't worry. If we can get you the part number then your dealer should be able to help. some times they don't want to even look. Our guys will look because they know I'll never leave them alone lol. Kathy said to say hi to you as well. You have the Rolls Royce of snow blowers there my friend. Thanks for watching and stay tuned :)

Paul when you do the wiring for the LED lights can you show a little more how you wire it and how you run the wire through the machine and to where. Thanks
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
Bob Wakefield I've been asked this before and I purposely didn't do it because #1. It added more to the length of the video. #2. I'm afraid that if I show my actual wiring and someone tries it and don't do it right they could cause their machine to burn and or cause personal injury. With the way things are these days we all have to be very careful on what we share with others.

Hello Paul, I greatly enjoy your videos and ideas. Here's a thought: for added "mod factor" consider an LED inside the snow blower chute to light up the plume with colored light. I got this idea from water ski boats that run a "wake flame". It lights up the water under and behind the boat...even in daylight.

@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
Pat Rothlauf Yup it is. It was running for a short duration in the video because there was very little heat left in the chamber. If it was just fired up the blower could run for 4-5 minutes before it would cut out and build up again. It's a very efficient furnace.

Hi Paul, Just an FYI. I spoke to Honda's tech support regarding the track pins today. The front wheel on the snowblower is called the crawler wheel and that takes sheer pin & cotter pin # 06907-732-000 comes as a kit or set. The back track wheel known as the slick wheel takes sheer pin # 90702-743-000 and cotter pin # 94201-30180. They are both meant to sheer to stop any damage to the unit. So I removed the harden bolt and nut I put on. Keep us updated with your future modifications. Thanks, John

Another great video! I thought you would have turned those light to point out to the front and side. I was looking for a battery operated grease gun earlier this week. Just hard for me to justify $200 but I guess I can't take it with me. LOL! Milwaukee make great tools. Been using their tools for over 40 years. Never been disappointed. Would love to see Kathy set up in making graphic.

Rick Anderson Thanks Rick. I figured with the 7" LED light bar that I put on it there might be enough light up front but those lights can be pointed forward in a minute so I'll wait and see how they work when the snow comes and make the adjustments then. Well I have a pneumatic grease gun and a couple of manual grease guns but I wanted something more portable. I totally agree. Milwaukee makes a great product.

Fun Saturday video working on the "Government Jobs." I agree with you on the suitcase for the greasegun. How would you ever keep it clean? Also, whenever I would get a case with a tool it ment I would need double the storage shelf space. One spot to store the tool and another to store the case. I could use that blower in Cincinnati, Ohio today.
@7863348

QuantityEngineers I like cases for the fragile tools but a grease gun. I don't think so. the trouble I have with plastic cases is that they are slippery on the shelf and they slide off of each other. We had snow flurries here today but no accumulation thank God lol.

Yeah.. there are few of them here In Utah.. that suck on Service as well .. The one that l like is in downtown Salt lake City.. They treated me very well. My first Snow blower that i got was damaged so badly from shipment plus it had fuel in it (in witch their were not supposed to ship any Power Products with fuel in it .. Oil Yes but a small a mount ... Fuel NO Way at all ... Called my sales person and he took care of it he got a hold of the call center.. the call center called me back and took care of it has well .. I was a happy camper .,. and i have double my throwing cap.. buy a little trick ? love it

Glad they took care of it for you. I found Sears great ten years ago. Great fast service, good warranties. Now they are a complete mess. I won't buy anything from them anymore. Call them because of an issue and get a call center in India. Not good enough. I guess you put the rubber impeller kit on your blower. 😄

Yeah a lot happier... No Not rubber impeller kit I would rip it to shreds. its a can of Pam Cooking oil spray.. you spray it in the auger & the chute and it helps through the snow better and further then "Stock" i think ( you spray it on before you used it) I can send you a pic of the snow blower if you like? i can send to your email?.

Paul..so the Honda has a DC generator? Do you know if all snowblowers that have lights have a DC generator? I have an old Crappy Tire blower that I want to replace the 27W light with a 27W LED. But I heard that if it has a AC generator the LED will flicker while running.

Good stuff - the only thing you haven't done on your channel that is widely used in Newfoundland is chainsaw repairs or even better yet you must have an electric chainsaw sharpener. Do you sharpen chains as well Paul. I just got a sharpener and tell you what there's not a vid out there that shows the way you would do it- hint hint. LOL take care .

intrepid277 Check with your local Honda dealership. It's an aftermarket item made in Quebec. As for the tubes. Here's the link. There's two sizes. The one I used is the smaller size. Hope this helps.www.agrisupply.com/manual-canister-large/p/67670/

intrepid277 No link. Sorry. Try calling a Canadian dealer across the border and asking them. Tell them it's an aftermarket part from Quebec. All these dealers are buying from the same vendors.

I totally "get" the mod factor. Guilty myself of doing such things. I live on the side of a mountain in the Sierras, so I get a bit of snow but not enough to need a Blow Snower. Having never owned, needed or operated one, why does one need so much lighting behind the machine? So you can see what color boots you're wearing?
@7863348
@7863348 9 жыл бұрын
ramosel Your a lucky man not to have used a blow snower lol. Well they're better than a shovel and not nearly as good as a tractor with a heated cab but I don't mind them.The Honda is considered the RR of blowers. As for the lights. your reason will be the one I'll be using because I sure couldn't come up with a reason lol. Keep well my friend.

Hi Paul! Thank you for looking into the part number for me. I have ordered the heavy duty commercial skid shoe plates for the side and back of the HS724TC. A question for you. With regards to the Honda manual it states to use 5w30 oil for the blowers. Because of the cold weather that we get here no different then where you are. Would you see any pros or cons with changing the weight of the oil to 0w20? Reason for asking is because of the viscosity of the oil on cold start ups? My garage is not heated. I am thinking running synthetic would be better, plus the tolerances in the motor shouldn't be effected? I always want to run good quality oil in my machines, but am worried that if I change the oil after the break in period it might effect the blower and any future engine issues. I would very much like your opinion. Hope your having a good day!

Travis Nesbitt Travis I really don't get a lot of time to answer questions in such detail. I'm pretty well maxed out now as it is in responses.Your manual will tell you at what temp to use what grade of oil. That being said I will use Moble 1 10X30 Full synthetic in mine and the Honda generator as well.

Gilles Godin Thank you Gilles for your subscription. Do your blower have a light on it now? If so, just join your light int the same system. If it don't have a light you'll need to see if it has a generating coil on it first. It might not making it impossible to install one. Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays.

Hi, I love the modifications, Thanks for sharing. Question: I noticed when you zoomed in on the sprockets the pins you had holding the sprockets in place were the same for both the front and back held in place by a cotter pin. My unit has the same set up for the 2 rear, but a harden nut and bolt for the 2 front sprockets. I bought the unit used so I'm not sure which is correct. The Honda part # for the cotter pin set up ( Your Set Up) is #90702-743-000. Is this what I should be using for all 4 sprockets? Thanks, John
