Daniel, Your impeller seals combined with your re-jetting video and Franco’s chute modifications have made my HSS-1332 a BEAST!!! Thank you for the seals and all of the incredibly informative videos.

Great advice. Just installed using Bostik Never-Seez Pure Nickel Special.

Installed the impeller kit on my 724A. High quality materials. The factory gap was a full 1/4"! We get a lot of wet show that can turn to slush when blown. Eliminating the gap throws the slush that would have bypassed or built up in the chute. Between the impeller kit and re-jetting the carb, it performs 1000% better. Makes you wonder why Honda would even sell the machine as delivered with so much wasted potential. Excellent video presentation. Taking my time, there was a learning curve but the third impeller took 15 minutes.

Hi Daniel, Just received your kit a couple days ago. Installed on my brand new HSS1332. Very high quality components. The 3-ply rubber looks like it will last multiple seasons. Followed your install video above. It was an easy install and I look forward to the first snow here in Upstate NY. Best!

Very helpful. I bought your kit on ebay and will install it soon on my HSS928A

Spray the housing with a lubricant. Wd-40, pb blaster, fluid film…. It will rotate easy and give some buffer to the seals when you break them in.

I installed your kit today. The kit is really nicely designed. I had some issues with the ss plates moving relative to the rubber when I put them on the impeller for drilling. I ended up taping the ss plates to the rubber piece with packing tape so they were in the correct position relative to each other, then putting that assembly in for clamping and drilling. Made it much easier. Then after the holes were drilled I removed the tape and bolted them in.

That’s a clever idea. I’m Glad the install went smoothly. Thanks for the feedback.

the best way to install the rubber belting on the blades is to bolt them on so they are tight against the impeller housing. Then before you start it up, use spray silicone on all the internal surfaces and it will slide smooth and not work the engine. Let it run for 15 - 20 minutes to seat in the rubbers, kinda like piston rings against the cylinder walls on an engine.

I installed the impeller kit and now I have a nice black racing stripe inside the cage. Just a bit more protection for the paint.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS!!...use Never-Seize for STAINLESS nuts and bolts. At least one or more of those bolts WILL gall (seize). You'll appreciate it if you ever have to change out the rubber.

Drill through the chute? Chutes are curved often and on an angle you would slip when drilling and your bolts would be on an angle causing them to stick out and be more susceptible to breaking off. You remove the chute which is very easy to do on all snowblowers. Not had one that I could not remove in a few minutes.

All true, but I never saw debris wearing a metal housing unless honda is using very flimsy metal. I have snowblowers from 1962 and the 70s as well as newer ones and have been installing impeller kits for years. I make my own kits from bulk materials.

My metal housing was scraped up when the impeller sheer pin got stuck between the housing and the impeller when it broke.

What are the black rubber bump guards you have on the sides of the housing.

How do you manually rotate the impellert? I got one impeller upgrade installed but can't rotate the auger and impeller to get to the other two. Suggestions?
@jeffsikula29203 жыл бұрын
...BTW you don't even have have to run it. They gall immediately like if have reposition the rubber.

Great and helpful video Dan... Could you share more details regarding securing the impeller blade for drilling using the vice-grip...where exactly are you butting the vice-grip handle against? Realizing that if there is a bit of play in the connection before it locks in, you will be drilling on an angle...how are you getting it just right to drill straight down? A few specific details would be great! Thanks again :)

So, the idea is to butt the handle of the vise grip against the auger. If your finding the auger is in a tough spot to land the vise grip against you can try spinning the impeller 360 degrees and see if the auger lands in a more desirable spot.

my questions is : why modify it when its already shooting snow 50 + feet, those honda impellers are factory balanced to tight tolerance to prevent vibration,
@drmerdp3 жыл бұрын
The ability to shoot slush 50+ feet is a nice perk.

Thanks for the video. Im installing my own kit but am finding it tough to move the impeller around to install the rubber on each impeller arm. Is there an easy way to get the impeller to turn inside the housing? Do I have to remove any bolts or shear pins first? Any advice would be great, thanks. I have a Honda HSS724AWD.
@drmerdp6 ай бұрын
Spray the housing with some wd40 or fluid film. The impeller will spin much easier during the installation phase.

Do you need this for a Honda? Maybe an Ariens 🤷🏻♂️. My Honda throws 80 feet
@drmerdp3 жыл бұрын
Every snowblower will benefit from impeller seals. Even Honda’s, especially wet snow and slush. With the kit you can throw sopping wet snow or slush as far as powder snow.
@murd7778 ай бұрын
You need to upgrade the chute. That's all!

What material did you use to protect the front lip of the bucket??
@drmerdp4 жыл бұрын
Door trim molding. Can’t remember the exact size but it’s basically a U shaped trim that fits right over the edge of the bucket.

I don’t have access to a hss622 in the US. But it’s very possible that the kit will fit the hss622. I’d have to look into it.

This is unnecessary IMO. Should have bought a Toro PowerMax HD 928 handles anything from slop to Deep heavy snow no problem or need to do any modifications at all!
@drmerdp3 жыл бұрын
Power max snowblowers are excellent machines. But, they can hardly compare. .
@PFred-ew4zd3 жыл бұрын
@@drmerdp I agree comparison wise. Toro PowerMax HDs don't require any aftermarket impeller, shoot mods or shear pins. Hondas are great as well with hydraulics and all but think they are overrated and reflected in the >price we are happy to pay. I guess its just preference on how you think they will perform in your situation. At least there both Red!
