Sorry for saying 6.1 quarts so many times! Hopefully this video will help you!!
Honda Talon Oil Change
1. Get engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Remove 12mm & 17mm engine oil drain plugs on bottom side of engine. Allow 10min for engine oil to drain.
3. Install 12mm & 17mm oil plugs. Tighten to 21 lbf-ft.
4. Remove DCT filter cover. Replace oil filter and cover o-ring (lubricate rubber on back side of oil filter and cover o-ring with engine oil before installation). Tighten 2 10mm cover bolts to 9 lbf-ft.
5. Remove engine oil filter cover. Replace oil filter and cover o-ring (lubricate rubber on back side of oil filter and cover o-ring with engine oil before installation). Tighten 3 10mm cover bolts to 9 lbf-ft.
6. Fill engine with 6.1 quarts of Honda GN4 SAE 10W-30 SJ motor oil. Install engine oil filler cap.
7. Start and run engine 3min.
8. Wait 5min and check engine oil level with dipstick.
9. Reset maintenance light on speedometer display.
10. Enjoy your Talon!!!

2:00- For clarity; the sub-transmission does use the same oil type as the engine/DCT, it's just a separate reservoir of oil.

Nice video, always watch yourself when tightening the oil filter cover bolts. See a lot come in broken off due to customers getting on them to tight. Love the videos !!

Thanks for the oil change video. I was curious how messy it got. As for Apex, they are charging almost $1k over msrp. That's insane. I just paid over $2500 less than msrp.

WOW, that's a lot of oil! I'm sure the transmission is using some of that 6.1 Quarts.

Just picked up my 2020 R. On the 100 mile service, just change the engine and dct filters/oil only or is the sub transmission oil to be changed at 100 miles also. Subscriber, keep up good work. Very Informative videos.

Ronnie Bowling Thanks for watching! One thing I’ve changed while doing the oil change is, I put a funnel under the dct and engine filter to redirect that oil back into the pan instead of it going onto the skid plate. Change the dct filter, seal it up, then the eng filter. The sub transmission (transfer case) I believe is supposed to be changed every 2-3yrs, not a certain mileage, it says in the manual.
