I just bought my first bike and today i passed my test for driving license, and yes, its a XL650V, blue color with all the rollbars, Givi side boxes and Givi windshield ! Im doing now full service by myself, changed the oil and oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, vacum line, fuel line and needs carbs synchronising and she's ready to go! Ordered 2 new tires, metzeler tourance! Cant wait to start my own adventures! Cheers!

Great video and great trail! There is some gearbox noise at low speed, I think 2nd or 3rd gear. It starts at 2:55 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbqnp9ResNaVgmw.html and going while acceleration. Is that normal for 650 Transalp? I read about the "3rd gear problem" is that possibly it?

Thanks… hmmm. I honestly don’t know about 3rd gear problem. If you are wondering about the strange humming gearbox noise. It’s quite common between Transalps. Almost like riding an airplane… buzzing sound. And the noise is between first and second. As you shift up trough the gears it disappears. But i’we ridden two more alps and they have the same noise, so i am not worried.

@@nomadmotorcycle Thanks for your answer! You calmed me down with your answer, I just bought Transalp 650 2001 with 87k km, and I was scared about that gears noise. I think mine has a sound like yours on gears. Rumors are that in the first years of production 2000-2001 there was some defective 3rd gear (or just bad oil maintenance) Here is the only video I found with that sound. its just as he hit 3rd gear. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iaiZo9KZ15a0oYk.html

@@yuriybaturynskyy7819 ahh. On this video i can hear it clearly. Mine is 2005 with only 52k on the clock. I don't have this sound, this this sounds a little bit scary. But they all have a strong transmission buzzing sound. And those clicks between first and second. Surely the oil takes a lot of effect on the gearbox and clutch.
