Anybody know what pipes are on the 3rd bike?

They look like open exhausts without mufflers. Probably home built

I hear some lean! Godamn I've jetted mine 2 fucking times now. Still seems a bit lean
@yasinelsarraj Жыл бұрын
How can you tell that just from the sound?
@RattlerSnake Жыл бұрын
@@yasinelsarraj the low idle will not be as smooth. And you can hear that the bike is choked because the rpm is a little high. Not all of them are lean, but a fair bit. They came lean from factory, and any aftermarket pipes and airboxes make it worse

@Edwin F McKiernan thanks for the explanation, but I'm still trying to understand.. what do you mean "choked because the rpm is high" the choke means you're running rich right? And by low idle, do you mean low rpms? Because then the two halves of your answer confuse me even more (low idle/high rpm) Thanks again.
@RattlerSnake Жыл бұрын
@Yasin Abdelmajeed i know, it is a bit confusing. Especially since not all chokes work the same. The 'choke' on these bikes doesn't 'choke' airflow, thus making rich. It opens another fuel circuit, which is about the same as pulling on the throttle a bit. Best way to tell rich/lean is checking spark plugs. I can tell a few of these bikes are not running about the 1000rpm they should idle. You should never have to choke for more than 30 seconds on a really cold day. These are a pain to jet and tune.

@Edwin F McKiernan I can tell what's rich and what's lean by smelling the exhaust, but I was trying to understand how you can tell from the sound, and to be honest, I still don't get how you can tell just from this video. Thanks for your time.

you dont ride far in the country ...small peanut on my oladys 48 is always needin gas.i have a sabre bobber that i built and it has a big tank .im suppose to get 35-40 mph ...no way.i run cobra drag pipes and a stage4 clutch,the carbs were rejetted 4yrs ago and it will shit and get.gas milage has never been a concern on a bike for me until you get a small tank.same as fenders...yep looks great and you dont intend to ride in the rain...hehe but if you ride enough sooner then later youll get caught and it will blow up both side of that lil gas tank rt in your face...it happened to me once with no front fender on a busy hgwy.....it was a shit storm and it came up on me fast.

Agree. That's my only complaint about my 02 but it rides nice and will go about 150 miles on a tank if I'm just cruisin.
