Hey, I was dippin and slammin with the dark dragon, now I have 105 days clean. It was HELL going through detox on my own but I finally now can wake up NOT feeling sick and focusing all my energy into " getting well" during my active addiction. My dragon has lost it's ability to blow fire. I can now deal and cope with life on life terms. Sometimes days really do suck but NOT like the pain I went through getting off that dark shit running through my veins and keeping me sleeping through the gift I receive every morning, opening my eyes. There were a few incidents in my journey through my path of destruction that I woke up in ICU. Thank you GOD!!!! I am so grateful now to be able to be in the moment. DR.D

I am almost 70. One thing there isnt is many old herion addicts. All my people are gone. I spent 25 years on herion. By the grace of God I found methadone. It gave back a somewhat normal life. I ended up hooked to the methadone like many. At least I am not filling my body with the crap that is out their now. My husband didnt use and supported my habit. It cost him everything. I cant forgive myself for taking advantage of his love for me. The rest of my family did so much for me. I am truly remorseful for what I did. Heroin has its roots in hell.If your using it isnt going to turn out well. Think it will be different for you? Think again I was in love with it. It destroyed me.

I used to think addiction was something for weak people until I went through some trauma ( domestic abuse) and found myself going down the rabbit hole of addiction. It was then I understood that people don't wake up one day and decide to get addicted to drugs they're dealing with a demon inside and the only release is the drug of their choice to escape the pain. I've been clean for 10+yrs. Got the right help that I really needed and could never be happier. So god bless those who've over come their demon and those still living with their demon.

I was bawling my eyes out at my gas station job (upset about the addicts in my life). This young boy and his mom came in and she talked to me forever. I noticed scars in the crooks of her arm, but they were so bad I thought maybe they were self harm. No, she said they were scars from needles. Talking to her really helped. Then her son, maybe 12, asked if he could buy me something. He bought me a kit kat and a blow pop. She told me she was going to rehab on Tuesday. I really hope everything works out and I see her and her son again. I bawled even more when they left. I never felt so cared for by someone I didn't know. This was the first time I heard this song in a really long time and I immediately thought of this story. This was a couple weeks ago, but I keep thinking about it. Update: I saw the little boy at the local carnival with his grandma. He told me his mom went to rehab. I cried some more and got a weird look from his grandma. I don't care, I'm so happy for him and his mom.
