Go to a zoo. This is a wilderness setting. You cannot do one game drive and expect to get nat geo type encounters. Be fortunate your saw black rhino which is really rare. Amateurs.

For real, IDK what they were expecting, especially driving their own car. They could've booked a game drive with a guide, who would've taken them on the dirt tracks and would know the best places to see those animals. There's also the option of going to private game reserves, where you're more guaranteed to see animals.

That day we send the animals on leave, they have been working hard for the tourists. No but seriously. Do you think the animals are tied to trees for your viewing experience? Etosha is 2,000,000 hectares, the animals are free roaming. Some days you are lucky and some not. I dont think its nice of you to say that its the worst safari in africa. There is much worse places to go and see nothing. Next time go to a zoo. I can guarantee you will see everything you want to see. Cheers (Update) I was at Etosha yesterday and saw 21 lions, 15+ elephants and a black rhino. All in a day. I guess the animals could feel your negative aura 🙃

That wasn't a safari, that was a self drive. What were they expecting from a self drive? They also had the option to visit a private game reserve, where you're almost guaranteed to see wildlife.

Guys Etosha is a perfect place to see wildlife. In my top 5 of African parks and I been in around 25. I think you don't have enough patience. That place is not only for 1 or 2 days. I recomend minimal 3 or 4. Spend time around when the gates just open and go back to the camp around 10:30. Then go to a safari again around 3:30 untill close. That is the moment when the wildlife is more active Pay attention to signals, tracks, scats, bird behaviour, even noises The only place in the world where you going to find animals without any effort is in Ngorongoro Crater (Year round) and around Ndutu lake at the end of january All the rest requires patience, drive slow and search. But you was very luck in only one safari you found a black Rhino. That is great Good luck the next one

Guys, your vlog is creating a very negative impression of Etosha…to see everything that you saw in one single day is absolutely unbelievable. Not sure what you expected, but this isn’t a zoo, it is a national park where animals are roaming freely, across a huge geographical area, in their natural habitat. Also, don’t forget there are more than 150 species of birds and raptors which you didn’t talk about. If you were specifically looking for predators and cats, then you need to spend at least 5 days in the park, and actually stay in one of the camps in the park like Halali, or Namatoni and Okaukuejo. Halali waterhole is in amazing, and on a good day you can see Rhino, Leopards and Hyena. Better luck next time guys, and thanks for visiting Eosha

If you've got nothing nice to say please continue visiting zoos where poor Elephants, Rhinos and other animals are locked up like prisoners for human recreation. You have no sense of humility do you. Namibia's tourism sector has been a top leading one. Such kind of a misleading video deprives others the chance to visit this beautiful country 🇳🇦 of Savannahs, desert landscape and free roaming diverse wildlife.

The Etosha National is as big as some smaller countries and it’s completely normal to not come across some animals on a game drive and unlike a zoo or a tiny game reserve, the animals are spread across a vast area. Moreover, it also depends on the season. Sorry that your experience was disappointing but this ‘honest’ review can negatively impact a developing country’s tourism industry and economy just because of your opinion which may hold a large influence. I’m glad the comments state otherwise though. I’m glad you had a great experience otherwise though and thank you for taking the time to explore our country❤ All the best

Wow this makes me very sad! How out of touch the two of you seem! I have an opportunity to study abroad and Namibia is where my studying will be. Etosha looks absolutely amazing and breathtaking! You are lucky to witness some of Gods greatest creations! It’s unfortunate you didn’t get to see the animals you wanted but you are on their time lol not the opposite!! You have to be patient - we were there for 6 days and saw LOTS at Okaukeujo - you can't rush through the park!

If you stay at one of the lodges inside the park, you can sit and wait by the waterhole at night. A lot of animals come at night when it is cool and quiet.

I've seen Okaukeujo waterhole so full of elephant or zebra that you can barely see the water. There were lions. There were rhino socialising at night. With all wild national parks, you never know what you're going to see and have enjoy the rhythm of the animals and the seasons. To rush in and hope to see everything in one or two days is unrealistic. Then again you might be lucky. The joy of the place is there are no guarantees and there's a more relaxed pace. I spent a month in Etosha a few years back and was grateful for every day. Some days there wasn't much, maybe some small unusual animal behaviour, but then there was the day the drought broke and flood waters rushed onto the Pan and vanished into the vastness. It's a magical place.

Its all about luck and some good eyes ofc. I was there 2 weeks ago for 3 days. 9 times lions, leopard, cheetahs. Black and white rhino and lots of elephants.

Etosha has (apart from buffaloes) all the Big5 animals. If you want to see wildlife, you need to have time and patience. Watch the KZfaq 24/7 live cam at the Okaukuejo waterhole at night, to see how many animals come there including plenty of elephants, rhinos and lions. Etosha is not a zoo, the animals there roam around freely. Greetings from 🇳🇦🤣

Etosha is best as a 4-7 day experience and you will never see as much on a self drive as you will with a guide. Patience is a virtue and that time of year is paramount. Add to that we saw significantly more in the Eastern section of the park than central, from Namutoni to Halali and north to King Nehele. The Okaukejo waterhole is fabulous but you have to wait. & it's best in the last hour before the gates shut. Yes the wind impacts sightings a little!

Really sorry you guys felt let down. Unfortunately, wild animals control us, we don’t control them 😂 It looks like you guys didn’t stay til sunset? The colours there are phenomenal! I stayed at the Okaukeujo waterhole chalets for 2 nights in June 2023 and saw 32 elephants during lunch and a lion kill at 3am in the morning. Also saw lots of rhinos, antelope, etc all mixed together as you say. Definitely need to stay in the camp and be patient. PS Luderitz is my favourite too 🤍

Just found this video...goodness me how on earth you can make a judgement after 1 day in Etosha is beyond me. I think you should have done more research and spent more time in Etosha. With wildlife you see what you see on any given day, some days it's full on and you see lots, other days not so much. It's a privilege to be able to visit Namibia, count your blessings and maybe next time have realistic expectations.

Viewing wildlife takes patience whether self-driving or on the back of a game viewing vehicle. Etosha is HUGE and dry so wildlife densities are naturally lower than what you might see in the Kruger region of South Africa or the great plains of East Africa. It seems as though you did very little research on the park, didn't try hard enough and didn't have enough patience. Even with all those things, there's no guarantee that you would see anything. Also is elephant with a 'ph' not an 'f'.

IDK what you were expecting from a self drive. Next time book an actual safari/game drive, where an expert guide will take you on the dirt tracks to the best wildlife viewing areas. Or visit a private game reserve where you're pretty much guaranteed to see wildlife.

6 hours visiting 4 waterholes in a national park covering some 8,598 square miles (22,269 square km), and an animal checklist before entering, spending a whopping $12.00 - and this is honest and the worst? Spend your money wisely - I recommend Disneyland; don't forget your checklist

You should go to Serengeti in Tanzania. We were there few months ago and saw a huge amount of differente species. And we saw the great wildebeest migration and the Mara river crossing. Paradise!

I understand the disappointment, but remember that's not an amusement park where you get what you pay for. That's a natural environment and it's priced in you may not see everything. I had the same experience in Amboseli (Kenya)

"Worst safari in Africa" jsut because you did not see what you wished for. Wow :) How can you even say this. I was there in December for not even 24h. Night paid tour - 3 lions, rhinos with babies, elephant. Next day driving through whole park to the other side - male lion, hyena. Apart obviously from many giraffes, zebras, springboks, jackals..... your review is worst, not the part of land which is home for animals and they just did not came to you to say hi.... oh wow. Your video made me sad. It is so cheap to enter and see all the beauty.

At one waterhole in Etosha we saw a lot of animals, the other day nothing. That's nature. If I want see a lion for sure, I go to the zoo. That's what they should do. We enjoyed Etosha. A real life experience.

It seems like your expectations were way too high compared to the very limited time of your stop in Etosha. I visited Etosha six times (between 2-5 days) and always had a great time...but also am still waiting for my rhino and leopard ;). Next time you need to extend your stay to increase your chances for varied animal sightings. Don´t be in a hurry if you want to see beautiful things :).

Etosha and most of Namibia are desert or semi desert, so it's not a natural habitat to find a wide variety of land mammals. The animals were imported from the Common Transnational Wildlife Park shared by Botswana, Zimbabwe and the Okavango Basin. The Okavango Basin is a thick green habitat fed by the only river in the desert landscape, no naturally it attracts wild animals. The national parks in Zimbabwe and Botswana (Okavango region) have a wide variety of wild animals due to the thick greenery and Savannah landscape.

you cannot say Etosha it's a waste of time, animals have a schedule of their own.. they are a moving venture... there is more than 3 waterholes, you have to be patient. I saw tons of animals. lots of elephants, about 5 Rhinos and lions, beside the Zebras, etc...

Okuakuego watering hole is the best place in etosha- but I guess it's being there at the right time- Although the live stream has not been on utube for a little while - between early evening and later in the evening - the white rhino's go to this watering hole I've seen 5 or 6 there at the same time- but yeah going tanzania 1st- is an anti climax going anywhere else in africa- have a good time guys👍

I think you need to take the slow, soak it in and appreciate approach to etosha, as is the case with many large and truly wild areas. If you are just coming to quickly check animals off your list and having a less public experience, you are probably better off staying in a private concession, and being guided on game drives where your guides likely know where the animals hang out. But calling Etosha worst safari-especially after all the animals that were seen- comes off a bit spoiled/ignorant? Doesn’t seem like you really were there to appreciate the place for what it is, and treated it like the environment and wildlife were just there to suit your needs. Yikes.
