However, it's best to stay in a local house to witness all the rituals.

Kotte was capital when Portuguese came to Sri Lanka. Only Sri Lankan parliament there with parts of the moats from old capital exist today

I think they don't allow filming in malls because of the war which ended in 2009. Video of the mall could be used to plan terrorist attacks which was common during the civil war.

Even though you feel Kandy is smaller than Colombo as far as the city area is concerned, Colombo is the smallest district in Sri Lanka (by area) 😅

white is the color what sri lankans wear for religious activities, funerals etc , its consider as the color of purity in buddhism , so sri lankan buddhists wear white for temples,thats why whole kandy looks like white clothes city😅even sri lankan traditional dress (kandyan osari) is white ,sri lankan national mens and women s wear is totally white , brides wear white in weddings

I'm from Sri Lanka I don't like to sugar coat my country There are lot of things in Sri Lanka need improvements for example Srilankan cities should be more clean , Sri Lankan tourism sponsorship and advertisement should improve because most of westerners have no idea about what Sri Lanka is .
