Shin Yeona is the leader. She also does the arrangements for most of the early songs of Big Mama, which are also in the vid. She's got a pretty hefty amount of professional vocal education. I think she went to France to study jazz music.

Loved seeing Aaron's face getting "beat up" by Big Mama's vocal abilities.😂 They used to be under YG back in the day for their first three albums before leaving. 2021 was an actual comeback for them after disbanding back in 2012.

Big mama is really such an amazing and one of a kind group they were originally a yg group and yg as a company had a very different color back then with artists like big mama and gummy but are now known for being a group of professors lol each member is currently a professor helping the next generation of musicians. Also since you had the cc off during the talk portion just a fun tidbit during the solo song they introduced it as one of the nation's favorite karaoke songs to sing

Two members the leader: Shin Yeon Ah (first lady black dress), was Hyunsik and Changsubs profesor in Howon University, the most prestige university for music in Sourth Korea, also Park Min Hye. (Maknae, lady dress Black and White) That's why you can see the similar style in Btob ballads.

The members were Shin Yeon-ah, Lee Ji-young, Lee Young-hyun, and Park Min-hye. A famous composer group at the time asked to make a vocal team made up of only female members with great vocals, not looking at looks, so each member gathered. And for their management and debut, Park Kyung-jin of M Boat, a label under YG Entertainment, contacted Yang Hyun-suk and debuted under YG in 2003.

The song, Take it about 15-17min, the singer wrote herself base on her experience. That song was actually for her last master piece for uni graduation and meantime she broke up 😢 thats why maybe u can feeling her expression while sing😊

BIG MAMA is the second girl group from YGE(not kpop,more like ballet). All of them are now Vocal instructor in different Universities.

Not ballet but soul lol. YG was since the beginning really into bringing black music into Korean pop, like soul and hiphop. That’s why their idols are also respected in the k-hiphop world

Technically they are an R&B singing group not KPOP idols though they would be generation 1 or 1.5 but they did sort of lay a blueprint for this type of vocal heavy group like SPICA and Mamamoo. They have a similar story to mamamoo, being told basically not pretty girls and older than typical for debuts, so better be good at vocals. The story I read back in 2021 is they decided to reform the group mainly to show their students(for the two members teaching at universities) that they could do it, show how singing can be done if you go for it. So they reformed the group, the last song on this video is actually a comeback it is new after disbanding in 2012. These women are top tier vocalists, few can get to this level.
