IU supposed to release this Love Poem album on time last year but she had to hold back because her dear friend Sulli killed herself right before it was supposed to release and IU ended up only releasing this song before releasing the entire album to dedicate to Sulli. I cried as soon as I heard this song because it sounds like she wrote this song to support her but it was little too late and IU was so sad and postponed all her schedule for awhile. This is a beautiful song and makes me sad every time I listen to it. IU is such a great person and so sweet, she doesn’t deserve losing three of her friends.

She’s not Top 5 female vocalist in korea for no reason, her hard work definitely pays off, her fans always show her tonnes of love. Her acting skills are also on par with her singing, winning awards for her drama ‘My Mister” as best tv drama. IU is currently filming a movie, while appearing on many tv shows as a guest and filming videos for her KZfaq channel too. This Angel never stops working 💜

I listened to the song so many times like 329 times but this was the first time for me to realize the meanings of lyrics while I was watching him listen to the song with lyrics, and i was almost going to cry.

Love Poem is a song about her, and her songs, being there to support everyone who is going through hardships and depression. "For you who has forgotten to cry out loud" refers to keeping things bottled up and don't want to talk to anyone about your problems, she's singing till the end for us and will keep us company until our long night (depression) ends. She'll be here for us, no matter what. This song always always makes me cry, the composition is perfect! The choice of instruments are perfect and her voice fits it perfectly. IU is one of those special artists that are so incredibly pure and I will always love her, and her music for that!

her emotions reached to me. i really love her live performances. her discography has everything. happy, uplifting, sentimental, emotional, unique. IU is the best soloist out there

You really bring up points that crossed my mind when i saw her love poem official live performance video, like how you can hear her deeper powerful voice in some of the lower notes, contrasting beautifully with her airy tones. You can usually only catch that in her live concert performances, not quite in official videos. If you're interested in looking at more of her showcasing just what she's capable of vocally (read: range), the song that hit it off for her, Good Day, is a good one to start with. And then there's You and I, Dear Name, Black Out, Hold My Hand... Albums like Palette, Chatshire, and Modern Times really give you an idea of the many colors in her music. Personally, i think Modern Times is where you see her truly start to come out through music. It flows smoothly with a lot of jazz, folk, and soul styles. Palette serves as a kind of balanced midpoint where that old-school, fun, and soulful sound (think dlwlrma and Jam Jam) is side by side with the gentle sober ballads (Through the Night, Ending Scene) similar to previous songs like in Chatshire (The Shower, Knees) while also kinda melding together through more personal R&B (Palette, Can't Love You Anymore). As you listen to every album you can hear how her music is really taking shape based on her musicalities and experimentation. This got too long i just really love her.

She has her own style of singing, in a way that I couldn't say she is the best singer in Korea, I'm pretty sure she isn't, but the way she sings is quite unique that you could not even really compare her to any of those other artists. Maybe it's the emotions she puts into her songs, which if I'm not mistaken are mostly her compositions so maybe they are personal for her. Like for this song, Love Poem, which she co-wrote apparently for her dear friend Sulli, who died from suicide. I've known of her for quite some time but never paid much attention to her until maybe just this year, and it wasn't even because of her singing. First, I got curious about her because of articles written about her. She seemed to be such a good person, with much compassion for others and things relevant, be it national issues like helping with calamities and such or issues within the entertainment industry. Then, the more I heard of her songs, the more I got into her as an artist. Plus, she's known to almost always if not always, sing live. Now I love her, which explains why I landed in this video. ☺️
