I really didn't like how they put too much focus on the locusts instead of the dinosaurs in this film. That's the biggest problem I had

They're just the ecological problem that moves the plot, and nothing more, the principal danger remain the dinosaurs, and actually, in every action scene there are DINOSAURS, i don't fu**ing understand this plot element's critic...

They haven't done it with mosquitoes yet probably since It's extremely costly to do genome engineering and very time consuming process, also if something goes wrong, then every mosquito in the world would be that deadly. So gotta take our time with imp stuff like this.

No, they haven't done it because mosquitoes are a major food source for countless other species, including fish and birds. Getting rid of mosquitoes would be insane. But hey ... we are humanity after all, give it time. We work ourselves up to being that insane.

@@Jigsaw407 its not about getting rid of mosquitoes, it about muting the gene which causes the deadly disease. They are not doing this right now because if some error occurs in the gene editing and a mutation takes places which instead makes them more harmful then that's would be worse. Its not related to food source, the end goal is to keep mosquitoes which basically cannot cause dieseases.

Mosquitoes do not CAUSE disease, they CARRY it - for instance malaria which is caused by a completely separate organism called Plasmodium (not a virus nor bacteria). Free of any infectious disease vector mosquitoes are nothing but an annoying blood drinking pest - but therein lies the problem, taking blood straight from their meal means taking in whatever is in their blood which is how they became disease carriers in the first place. The point of the gene editing about causing the mosquito physiology to reject the plasmodium or other infectious disease vectors so that they cannot be carried (aka spread) by them over distances - but without actually causing the mosquito itself to die in the process of rejecting it because as mentioned ^^ above that vital ecologies rely on mosquitoes as a food source.

@@mnomadvfx you're right..my bad i didn't consider the fact that they are the vectors...so yes the change or muting in dna would occur in such a way that the mosquitoes dont accept the plasmodium parasite. Even better if the gene we introduced can instead kill the parasite ...like a gene which will create an immunity against that parasite...that could be the gene engineering in this case.

Getting rid of mosquitoes and some bugs is not simple as it sounds. Getting rid of those creatures have far worse outcomes on ecosystems creating more severe impact on world and humans. That's why some methods are not used in eradicating them fully.

Pretty much. In parts of Florida (and other places) they have genetically modified mosquitoes which are engineered to have shorter lifespans. When they breed, their offspring die off too young to reproduce. Then they limit how much they release into the ecosystem. This allows them to lower their population while not erradicating them. They do this in areas with significant issues, such as spreading disease.

OFC the story & characters were shit but the action sequences, the cgi, the animatronix all were done pretty well. OFC its no Maverick/MI/James Bond GOAT of action+story but its good cgi/fake action. And not to mention the sound effects & sheer lack of any fake added in post film grain just like Matrix Resurrections all make it a "good enough" movie IMO

Therein lies the problem. If you screw the pooch on the story/script then all that hard work to create the best CGI and animatronics is wasted because people get turned off by the bad story. CGI/animatronics is never a stand in for a good story and a film without a good story is never anything more than mediocre. The only thing it's "good enough" for is material for Corridor Crew to comment on. If you took all the OG Jurassic Park film footage and added state of the art CG to it the film would be literally perfect in my eyes - as good as it was in its day you can see the CG very clearly now and modern CG tricks could help so much with it. OTOH most of the other films are dumpster fires because they all hang their hopes on people being so glued to the CG that they wouldn't scrutinise the story - and it did work for JW 1+2 box office, but its long term rewatchability is impacted and therefore its long term money making capacity is limited.

Steph hit the nail on the head with Chris Pratt...his idea of drama is staring blankly at the screen...so unless his character has brain trauma, like in terminal list, he should be in way less dramas and stick to comedy where hes actually excellent...he really is Mr Blue Steel in every drama role though lol

I said it before I say it again: this movie feels like they got hold of a script for one of those bad knock-off movies made by The Asylum and just filmed that with a major budget instead of writing their own. Possibly the movie with the worst script and dialgoue that I've seen this decade. I loved ALL the other Jurassic movies, by the way ... including Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic Park III, but this one ... Jesus! Christ! Still can't believe that this movie actually was greenlit in its current form. The only reason to watch this are the visual effects. Well, and "Han Yolo". She was awesome. Bad pilot. But awesome!

My biggest problem with this movie was that it had not sense of danger or adventure. The dinosaurs were slow.............. not threatening at all. Cheap B movie.

Nah, it's just that he turned out to be some weird evangelical dude, with some VERY out there views (the homophobia of his church is well documented). In addition, when there was a lame joke on twitter about him being the 'worst chris' Disney felt the need to activate their PR machine and make the Marvel actors profess their love to him, while anytime a woman gets a misogynistic pile on online for daring to be a woman in a leading role they leave them out to dry. And I think that fuelled it more than anything. Oh, that and that he is an ok-ish actor who always plays the same character that usually has the depth of a petri dish.

My opinion with original vdeo's timecodes 0:35 because not everyone is as nitpicking as critics and you 0:42 and? And you spend too much focus on locusts - what's wrong with it? Why not? 1:28 it says Jurassic world, not Dino world. And pterosaurus isn't dino, too. Right? 1:36 I'm not conspiracy theorist linking him to some demonic actikns so no - I don't hate him 1:48 and? Pretty sire Rocky also wasn't a good boxer from birth 2:04 and? 3:20 you sure? All those obligatories - nothing but just nitpicking. And who else, if not the one who raised them and worked with them, can make hand sign? So why not work on others? And not that they can do what they want by just waving hand.
