Drain method works well for non flavoured rices and parboiled (Usna) rices as you are not worried about loosing fragrance. Most parboiled rices lose fragrance during the parboiling process, so they can be cooked by drain method.

Peddy rich parboiled mathod rices are chewy by texture they compulsorily needs drain out method of cooking. In a stainless steel cooker container cooked rice stays stiff and soogy, because of sir cooked rice in a non stock pan with absorption method each rice grains becomes dry and grainy.

'Absorb' rice is flavourful since the water is retained or absorbed by the rice, it's my favorite method, thanks for sharing
