The increase in danger from the increased threat levels gets so insane so quickly. Like, "oh yea 1 fear a day I can manage that" to "oh god I only have 7 hope production and I'm getting 13 fear". And then it takes the entire doom clock to build another producer.

It's funny how the pips were like "oh no, he killed 5 pips... Oh well, who's hungry?" lol

The Dramatic Irony of hearing you say "winter is going to be just fine" after knowing the exact event that is about to happen is unmatched. Just so you know, you can see the upcoming events in the prophecy page next to the domains at the top of the screen. Can really help you to plan your upgrades and such, and each omen increases the threat by 1, which they don't explain well in the tutorial but each threat level increases the danger significantly. As you saw, it went from like 1/day to 3 to 7 to 13. Really gets up there. You usually need the next level of research or a lot more production of the domain for each increase in threat. Anyways, love the series! Hope it continues

Wow, that really seems like... the worst possible event? That wasn't even a max threat, which I think is what determines the severity of the outcome. I was expecting some resources to get stolen, a building destroyed, or a pip or two to get murdered, but that's such a hefty loss, especially with such a low population. It's gonna be a massive time sink. Makes me wonder if that's the worst possible Fear event, or if the eldritch gods of madness are gonna rise from the sea and melt everyone's brains.

Here a couple tips for your next run 1- get more pips from the start, spring,summer and autumn let you build up a lot easier and prepare for winter getting to 20 pips is easy, try to have 2 child at all time until about 15-20 base on the map you get 2- dont start chicken pen until you have a cauldron or you are going to get one, 1 egg + 1 water = 13 ration at that point but pips eating eggs is really bad production wise 3- get a hunter hut for each group of wild chicken on the maps and stock white /cook meat 4-to prevent pip from eating some food you can use the menu on the top left and X the type of food you dont want them to eat 5- building house at the edge of your territory expand you territory, use this with sign post to help expand 6- tomato field are great mid summer / autumn to prepare for winter and get food but only when you have no berry left 7- try to generate hope, health, cold/heat and nature a bit in advance this way it is more easier to deal with event ( your pips can be stunned or go on strike at some point so being prepared really help Really fun to watch continue playing

Repeating tips I commented on last episode just in case you didn't read em: IMPORTANT TIPS! -The chickens will respawn as long as you don't build over them, so try to preserve their spawn points. (Losing the one in the middle of the village is not that big of an issue, there's still many more and you could use the water spot as you also said ♥) -do NOT research fish, I'm not 100% confirmed but I'm pretty sure the fish have to be spawned on the map for you to be able to fish, so probably that's not gonna happen until you restart and create a map AFTER fishing is unlocked. IF you try, I suspect it could be a waste of research. -RNGeesus is with you today, but do not rely on it so much if possible. You need to start building more as required! you could have another table, for example, if you see you need more hope next time! All in all, through no small amount of luck, and a very decent management, you're still leading your people through these cursed times, be proud and keep it up! ;) (I still haven't seen the entire episode today, so if the run is doomed already, I'm sorry lol)

As far as food, you could also have had a single person on foraging (+2f/d) and you already get eggs (+6f/d) so in reality you go from (-12f/d) to (-4f/d) altogether. With 113 food to start on Winter, you would only need (20d x 4f/d = 80f) 80 food, which you have 113, so you'd be fine, albeit the food would be gone by end of Winter, but Spring brings more food, in abundance. It's a really a game of math, honestly, with some random rolls, for events, that can be influenced by math.

The title could not be more accurate. Things were going SO well until the murder. 😂 This game's "DotAge is a *merciless* game" warning is no joke. One of my first bad events was murder too and I LOST it at just how sudden and violent it was, I was NOT expecting it. You've done such a good job at putting out fires, literally and metaphorically, but man losing 5 people when your village is already relatively low pop. HURTS. I hope you can clean this one up too, though!

Third event with homemade tools is ridiculous. It makes sense for a roguelite to have stuff locked under progression, but I feel like this one is kind of bad. There's a ton, like hundreds of different events in unlocks. Which hits hard for your first play, cuz game has a very limited pool of events and they repeat a lot. I'm personally had four events that give science in my first play.

At the beginning of the video and my reaction to the burning building is just "oh no... the bonfire... is burning... how awful?" Really just sounds like automation to me.

You shouldn't feel bad for not having people on the hope producers all the time they were efficient; there was already an event that finished after that did and your hope reset as usual when it ended. You couldn't have stockpiled it.

You wouldn't stop breeding pips that you couldn't feed, so the pips took care of the issue for you.

34:45 this has probably come up between the video's release and now, but if you open up the prophecy screen by clicking the scroll button next to the domains, you can see what domain each event is going to be related to, up to the next Doom event.

I think the best start for this game is to get 20 pips as fast as possible while maintaining food and after you gain enough pips, you go hardcore on research while other pips build and do what ever. 6 of them on tomatoe fields should be enough to get 42 food, 3 pips should do research, 3 pips on wood, 3 pips on seeds and you have 4 pips backed up for what ever you need

I really don't think the egg factory is worth it tbh, you are using 1 pip to make the eggs, and then it costs 1 seed per egg which means you need pips foraging for seeds too, when compared to your other sources of food as far as pips used per food gained it's really not that good, maybe when you have a better source of seeds (assuming there is one) then it would be better, but as it is right now it's a minimum of 3 pips used per day to generate 8 food that's less than 3 food per pip which is admittedly better than berry picking, but worse than most other food sources
