@@Bada_Boom78 I agree. One thing that I always take into consideration about purchasing a firearm, especially a handgun, is if it has a thumb safety. Glock does not have one. I've never bought a glock because of this. I know you should never fully rely on a safety but it's just that piece of mind for me.

I was looking for a .22 and was getting ready to buy the Sig P322. Stumbled across this video last week and went out and bought the Taurus. Absolutely a fun gun to shoot. When I get the itch to buy a gun, I check the Honest Outlaw's videos to see what Chris thinks. He is by far the best reviewer mainly because he does not waste time and speaks quickly.

He said he would appreciate it if they "came out with a model with the safety removed." Just want everyone to know that they do, I own one. Got about 1,000 rds through it, only issue I have is, if I use the loading tabs on the mags, I get nothing but feeding issues. If I load it like a regular 9mm mag, it runs flawlessly.
@Spacebarf
@Spacebarf 4 жыл бұрын
Hey I have about the same amount through mine, I noticed that too. My to help with feeding I pull down the tabs and let it go once or twice while loading. It kinda pushes everything into its staggered position. but yeah at least half the time I end up loading it like a normal pistol cartridge

They also come with load assists. Not that a .22 mag has much spring compression, but it does help load the mags a bit faster.
@FooMantis
@FooMantis 4 жыл бұрын
@@bigd7861 Yup. I've used the speedloader for fun, and had zero issues. The only issue I've had from mine so far is just issues with the ammo itself. I also find that if you do use the assist tabs, if you gently tap the back of the magzine (while holding it in a safe direction) to seat them, no real issues from feeding.

Based off this review, bought one at my LGS and 8 mags in March. Four months later and roughly 4k rounds through it (several brands and grain sizes). I have had 5 total failures [2 ftf, 3 fte] and all occurred during a range period when I didnt clean the gun after a 650 round range session [2 boxes of Federal Lead bulk 36 grain]. The gun is legit the best .22 handgun and I'll wager a solid edc item if rimfire is a consideration for you. Only real complaint is the finish on the slide is cheap but the internal shows little wear. 10/10 gun, thank you sir for the recommendation!

I just bought the Taurus 22 day before yesterday and went to the range today. Wow, what a great, fun little gun to shoot. A terrific plinker. I was just using bulk ammo of different types that was thrown into a bucket all mixed together. I didn't have a single failure of any kind. Amazing. Taurus finally got something right! Will be a good gun to practice sight acquisition and trigger control without breaking the bank on ammo.

I had my choices for a .22 semi auto narrowed down to the M&P or the Walther .22. After reading and watching a lot of reviews about the ammo pickiness of the Walther specifically, I kept searching. I bought the TX22 for $250 and am glad I did. The capacity is great and you can also get a +3 extension. It also reliably shoots every brand of ammo I've put through it with only a couple of failures.

Glad to see others are enjoying this pistol. I really enjoyed my TX22. A friend who is an FFL let me borrow one of the first in the shop to test it out. Put almost 1k down it. Only issues I ever had were related to the mags and how I loaded them. If I ignored the couple that dipped down or up thinking they would straighten out, then they would usually not feed. But if I made sure they loaded fine and didn’t go wonky on me then it ran great. I went ahead and bought it because I enjoyed it so much. Put a light and was my truck 22 for a good while. Got plenty of skunks, raccoons, and snakes with it. Only got rid of it cause a coworker just had to have it and offered a little more than I paid. Upgraded to the beretta 92-FS in 22lr. Great as well

Aside from having to check my barrel after every magazine to make sure there aren't chunks of lead stuck in the defective rifling, the TX22 is the best .22lr pistol I've ever shot. I Love how they did the threaded barrel. Mine can technically fit in a glock 19 kydex holster in a pinch, but not very securely. Good enough to train with though. There are not many (1 or 2 at most) aftermarket sight options available as of last month when I last checked. I bought mine December 2019 and it was one that had the defective barrel. There are chatter marks down the entire barrel which can (and has) shred off chunks of lead that'll get stuck inside the barrel, leading to serious catastrophic damage if you don't check on it often. There was also uneven rifling and some keyhole issues. There still might be some defective barrels out there. DO NOT BUY ONE unless the gun store employee lets you inspect the rifling with a flashlight. I probably have another 4-6 weeks minimum to wait on them to send me out a new barrel. After a notably bad customer service experience involving at least 90 minutes of total wait time on the phone, and being made to jump through a bunch of hoops to even get them to agree to send me out a new barrel, I requested someone who handles complaints to call me at a later time so I could express just how crappy my customer service experience was. To their credit, they offered me a 15 round extended magazine for my G2C to help smooth things over. That definitely made the apology feel real, and I still cautiously recommend them as a company because of that. I'm not going to say, 'don't buy their guns', but I do highly recommend that you do more research than you normally would and inspect the shit out of the gun before you buy it. At Taurus, they like to include the customer in their quality control process, so make sure you do your due diligence while saving money on relatively cheap guns.

Just make sure you check your barrel for chatter before you purchase. The older run of guns had that issues and it's a pita to get in touch with customer service atm from what folks are saying online. With that said, the only issue with Taurus is the haters/trolls. That's it. The tx22 is absolutely amazing.

I don't like striker fired handguns but this one has a couple of mitigating factors. 1. It's cheap. 2. it has a manual safety. Worth considering. my only concern was the trouble you had clearing malfunctions.

I picked up one of these back in September, and have put a little over 1000 rounds, mostly Federal, through it with zero malfunctions. This gun has been nothing short of surprising considering the past record from Taurus.

You obvious got really lucky in getting that gun. No malfunctions from gunnitself in 1000 rounds. I've seen Taurus Tx22's fail in the first mag, but that was an issue with the gun itself. I have a Ruger sr22 and 6 10 round mage showing up in the next couple to 3 days and CAN'T wait to get it out to the range. I currently around 17000 rounds a various brands that I have had anykind of failures through my Ruger sr 22 rifle. LET THE PLONKING BEGIN!!!!!👹☠💣🛶🔫🔫.

Ah, I was waiting for the full review! I bought one a few month months back, and it has performed similarly -- a couple failures early on and no problems since. Just a fantastic gun at a very good price, and so much fun to shoot. I put on a green fiber optic front sight -- a very useful and inexpensive upgrade. Great review, thanks.

L Karamazov it was some rusty federal ammo. I actually didn’t know they were rusty and dirty until now because I finally came to learn more about guns and ammunition. When I shot that ammo I was reaaaallly new to shooting. I thought they were fine because I bought them from a big retailer and assumed everything was fine but...now I know. It’s a reliable pistol in my eyes but every one can have their own opinion.

Love this pistol - actually had 2. My sister liked the first one so much, I gave it to her and got myself the non safety version as replacement. Both have been utterly reliable except with some old moldy ammo and some 30 year old steel cased greasy Russian ammo. They occasionally fail to fire but I put that on the ammo.

@vegeta420z I grew up shooting 22lr, it's not my choice for defense but it will always hold a special place for me. I think most people who grew up shooting probably feel that way. I mostly shoot other stuff but I do bring a 22 along fairly often as I get more range time without as much reloading.

I bought mine a year ago. I have about 2000 rounds through it. The first 300-400 rounds I had a numbers of failures to feed and quite a few stove-pipes. After that I cannot remember a single issue. I don’t attribute all of the initial issues to pulling the tabs down too far when loading, but some may have been. I think some of it was just break in because I can be pretty careless about loading now and the thing just runs. My advise: if you have trouble try loading it with the autoloader but most importantly wait 500-600 rounds before making a judgement.

Just picked up a TX22 and I gotta say it runs like a sewing machine! Sights were off but they are windage and elevation adjustable. Quick sight adjustment and it was ringing steel at a blistering pace! Great trigger also. I ran about 500 rounds thru it right out of the box. Field stripped it, cleaned and back together. No wear issues noticed. Great deal at $259!!
