I have two PT111 Millimium G2 owned for 5 years, G3, and a G3x. The G3 stays put in a MCK G2 and had run a couple thousand rounds in that fairly dirty environment but I do clean it regularly and all of them have run flawlessly on all ammos. One of the PT111s has a LakeLine spring kit which was replaced not due to fault but curiosity. Kept the original for spare. This stainless rod and spring did slightly reduce barrel flip a tiny bit. Next purchase is TX22.

You will not regret it. I shoot it more now than my 9mm's. You can really work on trigger control and see when you are pulling shots due to the small recoil. Reducing time from concealed draws to first fire is where this really shines for practice. I also use it to force getting the gun in front of my face for reloads. Most of what we are practicing is muscle memory anyway and this goes a long way without the cost or fatigue of your carry pistol. Thanks for watching.

I've been thinking about getting this gun. I own the g2c and the g3x. Love both of them, never had a problem with either of them. Taurus has really come a long way. I own a bunch of handguns from different manufacturers. I have no problem putting either Taurus guns in my carry rotation. Am I going to say they are as good as my glocks, my rugers, my CZs, or my smith's? No, but they are more than reliable to trust my life with.

They complain about Taurus and use that slogan because Taurus under new management is making good designed accurate and reliable guns at a better price and they are not Glocks or SIGs. Folks need to stop living in the past. Blade trigger safeties have no place on a rifle where clean trigger pull is more critical than on close range pistols. Its not so bad on concealed carry close range pistols but not so good on full size duty pistols that need to shoot farther out.

I had a problem with the G2S, where the trigger decided it wasn't going to work, unless you put pressure to the left on it. It's kind of hard to explain, but they are KNOWN for these trigger problems. I also swore off Taurus, it would be a cold day in hell before I bought another one. I ended up getting talked into a 605 revolver chambered in .357. I am VERY happy with it, strangely enough. After everything I have heard about the TX22, I may give them another go.

I have the TX22 the G44 and the P322. It's the only Taurus I've ever owned and will probably be the only one I ever own. I paid for a new barrel. Cheaper than shipping the gun to them. Bought the replacement barrel at 600 rounds, the new barrel has 5400 rounds. It's not terribly accurate but it's very good as a trainer. It's more reliable than the G44 in that it fires a higher percentage of cheap rounds. Much higher. The P322 is much like the Glock. All three guns feed and eject but the TX is more likely to make a weak primer go off on one strike. Much more. The gun shows its wear, unlike the Glock, which has ten thousand plus rounds and looks new. All three pistols need attention when loading the magazine or you get nose dives. That's all three brands. The trigger is way better than the Glock, no where near as good as the Sig. Mine has a safety, we use it when going down to check in the middle of a string. Normally we don't use it. The Glock has no thumb safety, the Sig has a better thumb safety. Sights are impossible to adjust on the TX for close range. At max it prints low with all brands of ammo I use. All three are good guns with the Glock having the edge on quality control, the Sig having the best trigger and the best accuracy. Fixed barrel, best sights and best trigger for the win if you want to shoot small. The Taurus is the best bargain by a lot. If you get one with a good factory barrel it's cheapest. DO NOT USE LRN ammo in any of these three guns. If you do, assume you will have accuracy problems forever. Stick to copper washed. Load slowly, make sure each round goes in and is to the back. That's all three pistols.

FN 502 looks interesting. I really like the Cowitnessed sites with red dot and sight height for suppressor use. Im not a fan of the thumb safety but I think all hammer fired guns require one. I did run my suppressor on the TX22 and the sights were too low but was fun to plink. I'd did have a chance to run the Glock 44 side by side with the TX22 and preferred the TX22 by a good margin primarily due to the trigger. Thanks for watching!

I have owned a number of Taurus pistols. I now own a G2C and a TX22. I have traded all but these two. Problems, problems, problems with all of them. The G2C is the only one I am glad I purchased. My TX22 has all the right features and this video is accurate on that point, but Taurus is the most inconsistent brand I own. You never know what you are going to get other than a good price. It is a total roll of the dice. My TZX22 fails to feed 25 to 50% of the time. I took all 5 of my magazines apart and cleaned as recommended in the KZfaq videos, even though I have never had to do that with any other brand. Still, have the same problem. I thought CCI Mini Mags would solve the problem. They were the worst. Aguila was horrible as well. Remington Thunderbolt 40gr and Federal 40gr worked. I almost traded the gun yesterday but decided to hold onto it for awhile. I own all the major and not so major brands like Canik and have NEVER had an ammo problem, even in my 1911s. Taurus is an inconsistent manufacturer and the consumer never knows what he/she will be getting. After 5 tries, I will never buy another Taurus, even if there are 50 new videos telling me that Taurus has come a long way. BTW, my Victory 22 will shoot anything. Yes, it is only 10 rounds, but they go bang EVERY time with any ammo.

I consider myself a mid-tier gun snob and viewed Taurus as a budget brand. After a good experience with the KelTec P17 (a more budget brand) I decided to give the compact a try. Like it enough to purchase the first version with the OG slide instead of the new one that mimics the compact.

Only real problem I've have with mine (all FDE version), is that the rear sights won't hold their elevation setting. Windage holds, but not elevation. I stuck a sliver of rubber under it to keep it held up high, and that's the zero at short range fortunately.

I swapped the OEM sights with cheap fiber optic sights. No elevation adjustment, but the sights only needed drift adjustment for windage. Shoots great, but doesn’t like Remington golden bullets. Even then, only had 4-5 failures out of 100 rds.

@ManDuderGuy Жыл бұрын
@@E52O4 Roger that. I've made the mistake in the past of using Golden Bullets for everything but they really are cheap and messy, less reliable etc. CCI Standard Velocity round lead 40gr is better and very easy to find, been using that.

I know that a lot of .22 pistols aren't supposed to be dry fired because of the striker (or something like that), is that still the case with this TX22? Thanks and great video!
@ringsteeltv3179
@ringsteeltv3179 2 жыл бұрын
Great question. As a general rule you should not dry fire any rimfire. The reason is the firing pin must strike the rim on the cartridge and without the cartridge the firing pin generally smacks the face of the barrel where the rim would sit both peening the barrel potentially causing feeding issues and/or causing a broken firing pin over time. Look at any used 22lr and you will generally see a little dimple on face of the chamber at 12 o'clock from this happening. In the case of the TX22 it was designed to prevent this from happening. Per the FAQ page on Taurus website "Dry firing a Taurus .22 pistol or revolver will cause damage to the firing pin. This does not include the TaurusTX™ 22 because it is designed to be dry fire safe" with that said im kind of old school and am uncomfortable dry firing a rimfire due to a lesson learned. I did break a firing pin many years ago on a lever action 22 trying to be a badass. My recollection was justice was swift when my dad got a hold of me.

For me the issue on isn't the ballistic performance its that no matter what I shoot I always end up with 1 or 2 out of 100 rounds that don't fire. Ive got CCW pistols in other calibers that carrying a 22 for this reason doesn't make sense. I do carry a 22 revolver in the field for dispatching animals and love it for that purpose. If one doesn't go off Its a simple fix by pulling the trigger again. On an auto you gotta be on your game and clear the unfired round which could get a guy hurt if another gun is pointing at you. @ringsteeltv3179
@ringsteeltv3179 2 жыл бұрын
Press checks for me is religious due to carrying daily. Its the only way to know with absolute certainty the gun is loaded. If a magazine is not seated correctly, has a weak or broken spring, or the follower has gotten jammed up it might not pick up a round releasing the slide. You will also notice I slap the back of the slide also to ensure it is fully in battery. If I need to pull the trigger I want to be certain a round is in there and the slide is locked forward. Although in this case its not necessary I make sure to do it everytime for muscle memory. I also press check before holstering a known empty gun in competition or practice, returning a empty gun to the safe or removing it, or anytime I pick up a pistol I know should be empty. TBH after all these years of shooting I don't even notice im doing it. Thanks for watching!

Seriously, between a 22 and a knife, you would take a knife?
@ringsteeltv3179
@ringsteeltv3179 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know a controversial statement for sure. The reality is I wouldn't be in a situation where I didn't have either a knife or 9mm or larger on my person. More than 90% of the CCW engagements happen at distances less than 5 yards. At these distances some would argue that a knife is a far better choice regardless of caliber. The exception being an active shooter situation. The issue with .22lr is less about knockdown power as it is ammo quality. In every shooting session I have rounds that fail to fire and for me thats the real problem. The say dont talk about politics, religion or caliber selection :)

Taurus goes through phases unfortunately. Some of their firearms are awesome and some of them suck. I've owned quite a few of them over the years and it's been a mixed bag. I had a pt92 that ran like a champ and I even did some practical pistol competitions at my local range with it. I had a .357 from them and within 100 rounds it started to have forcing cone problems to the point where it would burn me every time I pulled the trigger. I have a Taurus PT 38 and I love it, it's rather large for a 380 but it is super accurate and extremely reliable. I have a raging bull in .454 and it is a beast. On the other hand I got a Taurus G2c and it was extremely unreliable. All in all I would say you never know what you're going to get out of them. However it does appear that they have been putting a lot more effort into making sure their firearms are reliable. My buddy bought himself a Taurus G3 as his carry piece and he loves it, I have only put a few mags through that one but it was accurate and I had no problems with it.

A 9mm version would be really cool. You could train .22lr and carry 9mm for cost savings. Thanks for watching!

We're getting a lot of new shooters who know nothing about firearms except for brand loyalty which is foolish. Buy the gun that fits your hand. Buy the gun you need to use. I don't buy a product because the company gives away free t-shirts and hats.

You just reminded me of something I meant to add to the video 😃 I tried the TP9 holsters I have and others and nothing worked. I ended up buying this $20 kydex holster on Amazon for it and its been incredible. It snaps in positively and retention is perfect. Thanks for watching and subscribing! Both your failures on camera happened on the first round of the magazine. For whatever reason when you reload after the slide slams itself forward you then check the ammo and do a press check. I bet you if you stop taking it out of battery immediately after you just put it into battery you might have a lot less first round failures. Just my opinion. Worth a shot. I know you already know better than I do but if you can't take some constructive criticism than shame on you. There is no practical need to verify 1st round battery and I CAN guarantee you that It does not happen in a fire fight. Tbh it creates more problems than it solves. I truly believe the 2 failures on camera were operator imposed and not the weapon itself.

A man who doesn't like safety's on a gun is incompetent to use such a device. Ignorance is no excuse for ignoring gun safety. Machinal or between the ears! If too incompetent to use a safety, How the hell can I or anyone else trust you with a gun period? Much less with no safety?

I'm not sure what you are talking about? I've never used a crayon, fingernail polish, or even paint on any gun I own. I suspect you are talking about the wear on the slide from holster draws on the Chiappa where the factory painted that silly "don't kill yourself" warning? None of my guns are queens I prefer to see wear and tear. Lets me know who the real shooters are vs Gucci noobs who get triggered by looks. Function and accuracy is the only thing that matters everything else is a reason not to shoot.
