Welcome back to the Honeydew, ya’ll! Today’s guest has been all over your TV including The Tonight Show and TruTV’s “How To Be A Grown Up.” It’s Kira Soltanovich! With the ever-rising amount of female comedians taping specials while pregnant, Kira has a bit of a different scenario back when she was taping her Showtime special. Kira hilariously describes the trauma of having a miscarriage while taping a special. She goes through the entire experience from the discovery of her pregnancy to eventually having a child. We also get an appearance from Kira’s mother to verify a wild story about how Kira’s family came to The United States of America.

This is so crazy, I had the exact same experience except I took the pill they offered, which was HORRID. I was in the ER for 6 hours thinking I was FOR SURE going to die, and you’re right, they basically did nothing! I had to wait in there to get a transvaginal ultrasound WHILE I was going through the contractions and bleeding, I was blacking out from the pain. Once they finally gave me the Fentanyl tho....WOW. All gone. I’m not surprised people get addicted to that shiz! I didn’t feel sick at all, just didn’t feel lol.

So the acupuncturist helped HOW exactly? She prescribed her a disgusting tea that was supposed to make something happen *sometime* in the future that would have naturally happened anyway. Then when Kira tells her she's in horrible pain, the acupuncturist of course says it's part of the process. Why wouldn't she tell her before? A *real* doctor would have probably been able to tell her what to expect from having a miscarriage. That whole story pisses me off so much. Cycling through doctors because they're not telling you what you want to hear 🤦‍♂️ No wonder you end up listening to quacks. On top of that, endangering other people because you're participating in traffic in this state."What are they gonna do at the ER?" I don't know, maybe give you actual professional medical help? All of this could have *easily* been avoided if she had just done the recommended procedure. I sincerely hope her kids are vaccinated... EDIT: Dude, this shit gets more and more stupid and irresponsible BY THE MINUTE. "I had to find someone who likes to take drugs" Yeah. Or you could find someone who PRESCRIBES drugs for a living and actually knows about dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Sorry, but someone like this should not have kids at all.

On one hand, people should never be discouraged from educating themselves. The problem with medicine especially is, for many people, "doing your own research" just means reading blog posts, joining FB groups and watching YT videos by people who don't actually know jack squat themselves. And then somehow believing everything they read there, while not believing anything that their doctor tells them. Exclusively listening to quacks who've got "alternative medicine" products to sell is not "research". Adequate research requires a lot of time and concentration spent on reading boring medical papers. Most people are not scientifically literate enough and willing to do this. That's why we leave it to professionals, who have spent years studying these topics. If you think that a few hours of googling alternative treatments can replace a degree in medicine, I would encourage you to think again. Granted, I don't think that our healthcare systems (especially not the one in the US), doctors and pharmaceutical companies are perfect and flawless. Not by a long shot. If you want to be skeptical, be skeptical. But please apply the same degree of skepticism and common sense to "alternative" treatments. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't.
