Omg I have PTSD from watching MTV or listening to the radios for hours on end for a song. But I would do it again if it was the only way I could hear this song, granted the music back in the 90s early 2000s was 100x more bearable than it is now.

After their last album in 2002, honeydip added a member and became a twin vocal band under the name 'Sugarcoat'. They only recorded one song 'Neu Disco' Guitarist Eiji Ichihara left Sugarcoat and the remaining members became a band called 'Tron'. Some songs off Tron's first album 'Big Wednesday 80's' like Ibiza Hippie, Neu Disco, and one or two others were actually performed live during Honeydip's Groovy Indian Summer tour. Tron's Veranda is a reworking of Summer's Gone. The band went into full 80's new wave electro pop and had little of it's shoegaze sound by their second album: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m5Ohm8d_rqjKj4k.html Tron's Tronique features lots of little nods, both by title and melodies, of wide range of 80's Western bands they must've heard growing up in Japan.

@@i7ami That's usually the case for Japanese bands who were indies and never really broke into the mainstream. Their music is owned by labels or maybe even the band themselves and official digital distribution or re-releases of the CDs just doesn't happen for whatever reason. The result - the music just gets harder and harder to find were it not for file sharing by fans. Even tron's second album was released by Avex and was subsequently buried and hard to find after it didn't take off.

@@collegekid1781 I like this version more as well, but I don't dislike the drowned out aspect of the vocals of the 1999 recording, drowned out vocals is a big feature of this genre of music after all, but imo the studio mixing in that version wasn't properly side chained, same goes for a lot of their really early albums, so I'm glad they decided to rerecord a few songs, not just this one (there are other musical changes as well, jun Shibuya players chords in this 2003 version whereas in the 1999 version he plays arpeggios, I along with some other changes but that's the most major one in a musical sense rather than production) I've spent way too long studying Jun Shibuya
